Listen up Steven Wright fans, the deadpan comic genius has a stand-up special coming up on October 21 on Comedy Central. The special, titled Steven Wright: When the Leaves Blow Away, will air at 9 pm, and if you miss it, you can catch it again at 11 pm that same evening, or on October 23 at 10 pm. Personally, I'm stoked. Steven Wright is one of my favorite comedians of all time, and this special promises all new jokes. I hope that's true and he doesn't pull a George Carlin where he sneaks old material in with the new stuff. 'Cause you know, that's just kinda lame, man. The special will tape at the Elgin Theater in Toronto.Steven Wright special coming to Comedy Central

That's something you and I have in common, Adam, a love of Steven Wright's material. It's been a long, long time since I've seen him or heard any of his material and I'll either be in front of the TV when it airs, recording it, or most likely both.

I've been a fan of Steven Wright since like, the days of Zubas and British Knights, and it's about freakin' TIME he gets a special. I also hope he doesn't commit the comedic crime of repeating old jokes (cough--Sarah Silverman: Jesus is Magic), though his delivery is so spectacular that I might not mind.

If you think "The Office" (the British version) is funny, this bloke tops it. Deadpan delivery, asolutely brilliant insight into the human condition, and one liners are all delivered without the vulgarity of other comedians. He can even play guitar (very badly and very funny) and his songs are absolutely awful). I laughed more than I have done in months. His material is so original ("out of ten, where 6 is the maximum, I'd give him a six). That kind of humor. Brilliant!

Caught only a few minutes of the special. Would like to see in its entirity. Did anyone tape it who would like to share a copy? Would pay for tape and postage. Or, would appreciate knowing when it will air again.
