If you listen to Howard Stern's Sirius radio show -- or was a fan of his terrestrial radio show -- and you have digital cable, you may have been skittish to pay the $9.99-13.99 per month that it costs to have access to the show's on-demand TV channel, Howard TV. The folks at on-demand provider in DEMAND know this, which is why they're offering "free" access to the channel on the weekend of November 3-5. Well, actually, it's a "penny preview" weekend, the nominal charge implemented to keep minors from accessing the channel (good luck with that, cable providers!).For that penny, though, you'll be able to see Howard's new and raunchy Sirius shows -- think Sybian, lots of swearing, and the genitals of show flunkies Richard Christie and Sal Governale -- along with classic bits from the terrestrial show that may or may not have made it to the air when E! had the show's TV rights. To introduce the weekend, the in DEMAND folks have been putting out provocative ads, with taglines like the one in the picture above, and fuzzy pictures of lesbians kissing. What did you think the ads were going to show, Crackhead Bob?

Something awful screwey here. Howard made TONS of money on the premise of taking his 12 million free listeners and viewers and getting them to shell out their hard earned bucks. Didn't happen. So now, we can get Howard for a penny?
That's a penny too much for me.

I love Howard and the Sirius show allows a lot of folks to enjoy him. The On Demand TV show is what the E show could never be, ie, uncensored.
Howard is giving his audience what they want. BTW, his SAT audience is growing so fast, XM is in trouble.

@ #1:
Are you trying to say his jump to satellite has been a failure? You're obviously not paying attention to pretty much EVERY report in the last two weeks. Incase you're to lazy to look, here are just a few:
http://money.cnn.com/2006/10/04/news/companies/sirius/index.htm?source=yahoo_quote
http://www.thestreet.com/_yahoo/newsanalysis/techgames/10312957.html?cm_ven=YAHOO&cm_cat=FREE&cm_ite=NA
http://www.fool.com/news/mft/2006/mft06100402.htm?source=eptyholnk303100&logvisit=y&npu=y&bounce=y&bounce2=y
And, just incase you're too lazy to read those articles, here is the gist:
-----
"For the fourth consecutive quarter, Sirius (Nasdaq: SIRI) finds itself closing the gap with market share leader XM Satellite Radio (Nasdaq: XMSR). Heading into the seasonally spiked holiday quarter, Sirius was no slouch in generating 441,000 subscribers for the September quarter. It now has 5.1 million members. XM managed to sign up only 285,000 net new accounts, closing out the period with 7.2 million subscribers."
----
After 4 consecutive quarters of growth outpacing XM, when XM was clearly the market leader in retail sales before stern made the jump, you still think he's a failure? wake up man.

XM's marketing just plain sucks, IMO. If they can fix that, then Sirius is in 'trouble'.
