Lost: A Tale of Two Cities (season premiere) - live blog

lost(S03E01) Here it is, as promised -- the TV Squad live blog of the third season premiere of Lost! I'll be doing my best to keep this post updated with my own observations on the episode as the events happen. I'll also see all of your comments as you post them below and will respond within the post if it seems the right place to do so.

So keep coming back to this page for updates as the night goes on. It's showtime! Actually, it's ABC, but you know what I mean...

(UPDATE: If you're looking for more of a review, check out the TV Squad Lost discussion post)

9:00
-- In true Lost fashion, a very complete 'previously on' sequence, as if we've all forgotten what happened last time.

9:02 -- Deja Vu with the oldie song playing, eh? I thought at first it was the same song Desmond listened to last season, but nope.

9:03 -- Henry Gale! And the plane! In a neighborhood! On island!

9:05 -- Gale's clearly the leader, as we've already seen before. And now we see where they are in relation to the plane crash. What did Henry mean by being out of the book club? Because he wouldn't have time to read now, with a plane having crashed with survivors?

9:06 -- OK, commercial break. Already this is nothing I could have predicted would happen so soon in the episode.

9:07 -- Jack! In a car! On isla...oh wait. Flashback.

9:09 -- Kristin of E! said the door Jack opens isn't a "hatch" but it is a five letter word starting with 'H'. Any ideas?

9:10 -- Live blog over -- shower scene with Kate.

9:11 -- Kidding.

9:12 -- Wait, did that guy admit he's gay? Not his type? Oh! He's a robot! Nope, still wouldn't make sense.

9:13 -- Oooh nice call. Is it a "house" Jack walks into? Hmmm.

9:15 -- So, have we seen Juliette before? She does look familiar.

9:16 -- (Oh be quiet about the chat -- Ryan put you all up to this, didn't he?)

9:19 -- Jack's wife was with his father, wasn't she?

9:20 -- These writers sure like to write shower scenes for Kate, don't they? God bless 'em.

9:22 -- Man, if the Losties ever had any idea of who they had captured back when they had him...

9:24 -- "Very unpleasant" two weeks. Let the speculation begin. Dear LORD what's with all of these COMMERCIALS?!

9:27 -- "Hotel?" Nah. Hey wait, maybe "hedge"?

9:28 -- "Why is Sara calling you, dad?" D'oh!

9:32 -- Interesting the Others don't know where the Oceanic flight originated from. Then again, maybe it's just Sara Juliette who doesn't know.

9:34 -- That kid was a plant, wasn't he? Either that or he used Sawyer as bait so he could get away himself.

9:35 -- OK, so Carl was just another monkey in a cage like Sawyer.... and ANOTHER commercial. What is that, five now?!

9:37 -- OK, this is off-topic, but you HAVE to stay tuned for The Nine after Lost. It's that good.

9:39 -- I hope these companies didn't pay a lot for these commercials, because they are stooopid.

9:41 -- Maybe there is something to be said for the twin theory -- how can Juliette (the woman talking to Jack from behind the glass) be in all those places at once?

9:42 -- Now I don't think Jack's father slept with Sara, but why isn't be being straight with Jack?

9:45 -- Why the heck didn't Juliette just say "there's a wall of freakin water behind that door! No!"

9:46 -- Is it just me, or is this episode losing you as well? Started out with a bang, and now ... not so much. Come on now, lessen up the commercials and give us something juicy!

9:48 -- Is this what we have to look forward to all season? An hour plagued with a gazillion commercials? Maybe I should change the title to this post: Lost commercials: live blog.

9:51 -- Wait, I was right! Sawyer is a monkey in a cage!

9:52 -- Ah, so this is where the polar bears were kept.

9:54 -- This also seems to be where the weird sharks with the Dharma symbols came from. One big aquarium with attached zoo.

9:57 -- Does Julie Bowen (Sara) look like she had work done?

9:58 -- Hey, was that Michael of Desperate Housewives that Sara went to? Nah...

9:59 -- So, the big reveal ending: Henry is actually "Ben". That's it?!

10:00 -- At least the rest of the season looks pretty exciting. OK, so this wasn't a chat like we used to have last season, but right now we lack the resources to have them every week. Maybe things will change ... we'll see. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the live blog tonight, even though half the episode was commercials.
