I tried, I really tried.
I wanted to review Six Degrees, the new ABC Thursday night drama, but I couldn't even get through the second episode. The show is just too damn boring. I don't agree with the entire set-up of the show, as I mentioned in last week's review, and I still think there is exactly one story I'm even remotely interested in, and that's the plot involving Campbell Scott's messed up photographer character.
I'm not sure how much input executive producer J.J. Abrams has in the writing of the show, but there's nothing here that even remotely comes close to Alias, Felicity, or Lost.
I find myself drifting back to ER, even though I swore I wouldn't watch that show either after so many years of watching it. Those of you who are watching Six Degrees, is there something I'm missing?

Huge snorefest. I couldn't care less about the characters, including that prick of a photographer. Is it just me or does that actor have a permanent dick face?

Same here. I didn't even finish the first episode. Unless they throw in some wacky sci-fi elements at this point (which would be jumping the shark), I'm not even remotely interested in this show.

I missed the first episode, and I'm not sure I remembered to record last night's, so this is actually sort of welcome news to me. Abrams' was pretty much the only reason I had planned to watch anyway.

We gave it two episodes (which is 1/2 an episode more than we gave Thie...Smith).
I mean, I can believe a chain of coincidinks, but seriously, like these 6 people are all in bed together? yeah right.

Sean is right. I've actually started getting kinda mad everytime a character walks by and you see another character sitting in the background. Lame.

I like the idea that everyone is conneted by 6 degrees and showing us how. I liked the fact that the driver hit it big when he found the other character's penny on heads. It showed me how my insignificant actions can majorly affect another's life. It's interesting!

I watched the first episode just out of curiosity (and because I couldn't resist failing yet another psychology test), but last night I turned it immediately off. The concept sounded neat, but I wasn't fond of the characters and it really was dull. I was vastly disappointed to see that the scene with Mae topless was just her being stupid, rather than some sort of protest, or you know...anything remotely interesting at all.

I haven't been able to make myself watch the second one yet and from the ratings it looks like others feel the same.
ABC is winning the night until Six Degrees, they need to fix this ASAP. After looking at the shows they could move to this time slot I think What about Brian would work very well. It could hold the viewers of UB and GA.
What do other's think would be a good fit at 10pm to make ABC rule Thur. nights completely?

I actually really like this show, but I can't for the life of me figure out why. I agree with Bob, that the Campbell Scott photographer character is the only plotline I'm actually involved in. Still, I'll keep watching for the (four? five?) episodes that get aired before ABC yanks it.

While its not Shakespeare or anything, I still like the show.
Bob, I think that you should give it a couple of more episodes... Hell, I don't think we should give up on a show after just a couple of episodes. Give it at least 4 :)

I'm watching it, but grudgingly. I like the Campbell Scott and Hope Davis characters but only because I really like Campbell Scott and Hope Davis (and no, Scott *doesn't* have a permanent dickface, Keith McDuffee). But I won't shed any tears when it's cancelled.

What confuses me is why would you stop reviewing it? If it sucks, tell us. Make your reviews funny, and rip the show apart. I like reading negative reviews as much as good ones. Which is why at TVsquad I don't understand getting rid of shows the reviewer doesn't like.

seems to me that you started watching the show hoping you'd hate it so you could use the headline to this article...

Aaron, I can't speak for Bob, but to address your question:
Keith has told us (and the readers) on more than one occasion that we are not going to force ourselves to watch a show we don't like just for the sake of doing a review of it. Of course, if we tire of a show and want to stop reviewing it, we have to do exactly what Bob did above: tell the readers why we're stopping and brace for their wrath and indignation :).

The thing I don't understand, is why stop reviewing just because something is bad? Bad reviews of stuff are hilarious. I just think a lot could be done, doing bad reviews of things.

Aaron: There's a difference between reviewing something that's "so bad it's good" bad like Plan Nine From Outer Space or The View or whatever Paris Hilton is doing. But a show like Six Degrees isn't "bad" in the same way. It's just boring. There's really no humor to be gained from reviewing it. It would just be pointless.
