CBS wants to see what happens when the cool kids at Abercrombie & Fitch mingle with the computer geeks at the Apple Store Genius Bar. The show is called Genius Bar and all four major networks thought it was pretty great. After a bidding war, the idea landed at CBS. Genius Bar is being created by Josh Sternin and Jeff Ventimilia, two producers of That '70s Show.It's interesting- the idea for the show actually came from a marketing guru named Krishnan Menon, whose company is responsible for major marketing campaigns for the iPod and iMac.

Yes, funny premise. But I don't know if I really want the marketing person from Apple to be creating series tha just happens to feature Apple products.
I know it's a business, but can we just make believe for a few more moments that there's a wall between story and sponsor?

Instead of "marketing guru" it should have said "ass clown" - I've had encounters with Krish Menon and he is no marketing guru, he's a jerk that jumps from company to company, riding on the backs of those below him. Seriously, this guy is worthless. I can't believe he came up with a good idea; he must have stolen it from someone.

I actually think this is pretty cool idea. Class divides are not too uncommon, and using a mall as a setting for it can be pretty funny and ironic.
In reading the original Hollywood Reporter article, it didn't seem like Apple nor A&F are endorsing this. In TV pitches, execs and writers often using "like" scenarios to describe a situation. This is more like Beauty and The Geek or Romeo and Juliet in a mall. That's what I like about it.
I also think its pretty funny that the previous commenter thought enough about the originator to make a negative comment, but was too much of a wuss to put his or her name under it. Have opinions, but don't be a fricking coward to put your name against it, that's what I think.
