(S03E06) After all the craziness of performance night, this figured to be an interesting show. Of course, they covered all of the rule violations hubbub, and there was one thing that stood out to me.This notion of, 'We didn't know we were breaking the rules' boggles me. How do you not know? Especially if the rule is 'No Lifts.' That's not hard to remember. It doesn't even require higher math. Just don't do lifts. It was good for them to have Len go through the basic rules. They should have done that on one of the earlier results shows.
Vivica and Nick get the encore this week. Jesse DeSoto and Cheryl Burke follow that up dancing to the music of Scissor Sister. I've never heard of them, but not a bad song. They look like they'd be an interesting live band. I've got a thing for Kate Pierson, which helps. Cheryl and Jesse are great, as you would expect.
Over the first few weeks I haven't been a fan of the audience reaction portion of the show. This week though, I did enjoy the girl who said, "If I want to watch cartwheels and handstands, I'll watch a cheerleading competition.' I thought she was channeling Len there for a little bit.
The first safe couple is Willa and Max. That shocked me. Has she finally won over some of the home viewers? Sara and Tony are also safe. I really think Sara has a big fanbase in her back pocket. That could be a big deal down the line. Monique and Louis are also safe.
Speaking of that Sara fan vote, I did a little poking around the internet. Along with a fan club on her official site, she also has 10,000 MySpace friends, and a site just for the competition called Dancing with Sara. And everyone on each of those sites is getting updates and reminders to vote. Good on her for making use of technology.
Next week we will be seeing some pasa doble. To give an idea of how that will go the pros dance while Vittorio Grigolo sings. His music isn't my cup of tea, but the dance is impressive and the pasa doble should make for a fun week 4.
Scissor Sisters return to play "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" before we get down to the business of booting. It comes down to Harry and Ashly or Jerry and Kym leaving. But wait, what was with Samantha taking the shot at Jerry? She suggested that the fans finally came to their senses by putting him in the bottom two. I didn't expect that out of her.
In the end, Harry and Ashly are leaving. That surprised me. I thought Harry would be around a couple more weeks. It was coming sooner rather than later, sure. Harry just isn't a dancer. But he made Clash of the Titans, so he has that going for him, which is nice.

I think that Sarah should have gone before Harry and Ashley. I don't feel that boots are proper ballroom attire and that should have been addressed. My heart goes out to Ashley because she has not been placed with the most talented stars. I just knew this season she was going to get someone who had potential more so than drive. Master P. had nothing but promotional skills and Harry had drive more so than talent. Oh well, better luck next time Ashley:(

I think both the regular show and the results show last too long and wish they would cut out some of the miscellaneous stuff - the Scissor Sisters? Puhleez!!! I too feel for Ashly - she is so pretty and talented and really seems to care for her partners. Maybe next time she'll get one with a bit more talent and, should I say, youth?

I think Samantha was just quoting something Jerry said in the last episode wondering when the fan's would come to their senses and vote him off. It was self-deprecating humor coming from him, but it does sound a little nasty when someone else says it.

As a classical music afficionado i am following Vittorio Grigolo for some time. On his website, the announcement of him singing on DWTS , was something to look forward to. It was a big disappointement, since Samanthe did a almost inaudible job introducing him. Who picked Carmina Burana anyway for this show? I think, Samantha's time is up and Tom looked a used car salesman in his suit.

Sigh . . . I really wish the producers would give Ashley someone with more potential. She's very different than the rest of the professionals. Same skills with a stronger sense of style. Rather than bikinis with fringe she goes for elegant. Much more attractive. Ashley still has my vote.

I agree with Erosia, Jerry had said something similar and they were just playing off of it. Plus they knew he was safe I think so it wasn't as rude as it would have been if Jerry was voted out.
I wanted Harry to stay at least a couple more weeks because he worked so hard. I feel like some credit should be given for how hard they are working. I think the giving of low scores to the really good dancers as penalties really hurt some of the middle of the pack dancers. Then those with slightly strong call in support can move ahead when the judges scores are that close.
I do think the fact that the rule as simple as "no lifts" that they should be able to follow it. Mario always looks like a little kid who had gotten away with something he shouldn't have when they aren't in the bottom two. He will keep pushing the limits because I think he feels like it's getting him the attention he wants.

I HAVE WATCHED ALL THREE SEASONS OF THIS SHOW AND I HAVE SEEN THE REALLY GOOD DANCERS AND SOME THAT SHOULD KNOW THEY SHOULD NOT EVEN BE ON.THE MUSIC THE FIRST SEASON SHOWED THE REAL BALLROOM TYPE OF MUSIC THE PROFESSIONALS DANCE TO, THIS YEAR HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY THINK ANYONE COULD PERFORM TO THE JUDGES STANDARDS WITH THE CRAP THEY HAVE CHOSEN TO DANCE TO. I THINK IT IS DEFINATELY TIME TO THINK OVER THE TITLE OF THE SHOW VS. THE MUSIC THAT IS APPROPRIATE FOR THE DANCES THAT HAVE TO BE PERFORMED.lAST BUT NOT LEAST, AS MUCH AS I LIKE MARIO HE SHOULD HAVE GOT THE BOOT, HE HAS HIS OWN DANCING AGENDA AND IT IS NOT BALLROOM.

Nancy,
The title of the show is "Dancing with the Stars". Rethinking the title has nothing to do with the choice of music. They have to have music to dance. It's not "Ballroom Dancing with the Stars".

Mario is the real dancer and the real deal. Vivica looks like a cow in labor. And those rules? They only count against dancers like Mario & Joey. Notice Vivica can do a CARTWHEEL! and Sara can SHIMMY OVER A ROLLING BODY! during their dances. Puhleez. We can see between the lines. The judges are sending a mixed message. No consistency. Just bad Mario and Joey. Surely the bloggers can see the whole picture and the selective critism for just two of the dancers.

I don't get the whole no lifts rule. It only helps keep less talented dancers around. You don't have rules like this in singing contest. Imagine a rule saying no one can sign high notes, because some of the contestants can't. PL!!!
I see how the rule might help prevent dancers trying moves they can't, but when they actually can it's enjoyable to see the talent. Mario and Joey are so much more talented then most of the others this how the directors have desided to even up the odds. But it just lowers the performances. I love Vivica, but to say she out danced Mario or Joey just makes my laugh. Everytime she dances I fall asleep.

I , TOO, HAVE WATCHED ALL 3 SEASONS AND HAVE ALWAYS FELT THAT THE JUDGES HAVE SCORED THE COUPLES ON THE SAME SCALE , UNTIL NOW. IF THEY ARE GOING TO PENALIZE JOEY AND MARIO FOR BREAKING THE RULES, WHY IS VIVICA ALLOWED TO DO CARTWHEELS , WITHOUT COMMENT ? ARE WE SUPPOSED TO BE IMPRESSED THAT SOMEONE HER AGE CAN ? IF JOEY OR MARIO ARE VOTED OFF WHILE VIVICA REMAINS , THE SHOW WILL BE A JOKE.

Hello everyone,
This is supposed to be a family show, with morales!!!... America is supposed to vote, but we shouldn't being paying people to vote!!!!..... That is wrong!!!!....
Personally I feel that Harry got rail-roaded!!!...
I feel that Willa is cheating and got really ticked when she was named as the next one leaving....
I am becoming discouraged with the show, its not fair or honest....
