What happens when the season premieres of CSI and Grey's Anatomy go head-to-head? Duh. I can't understand why the press is having such a fit over the fact that Grey's Anatomy had higher ratings than CSI on Thursday night. Of course it did. Grey's Anatomy ended last season with a cliffhanger. Grey's is hot and buzzworthy, while CSI is old and predictable. Grey's Anatomy had 25.4 million viewers for its season premiere, while CSI had 22.6 million. Congrats to the folks at Grey's Anatomy for toppling the highest-rated show on television in their first match-up!What did you watch at 9 pm on Thursday?

Of course Grey's Anatomy beat CSI. Who wouldn't want to know what happened after Denny died and Burke got shot? You can find CSI related tpics in almost any movie you watch that invloves the police.

I didn't watch anything. I am curious how the ratings of these premieres for each compare to previous years?

CSI has been less interesting each year I watch it, so naturally I turned to new favorite, Grey's Anatomy. However, I wouldn't count out CSi just yet. Grey's jsut came off a great second season and a really good season finale. People were talking about the show all summer and ABC has done an excellent job of marketing the series. But, I still think it will be an up and down battle for the season; and if FOX stick American Idol on the same night it could be interesting. Personally, I despise Idol so it won't matter to me. Besides, neither CBS or ABC can be unhappy. Both shows dew 20+ million viewers each. That's a good night of television.

Of course I watched Grey's. I could hardly stand the wait. It wasn't even a contest. I tired of CSI a year or so ago. The Grey's Anatomy episode was everything I was waiting for and more. The writers got it right. Go Shonda.

I watched "CSI" and taped "Grey's Anatomy", but then I recently passed out of the covetted 18-49 demographic and I'm a Canadian somy choices don't matter double. Given what my cable company did when they discovered the infamous "wrong episode" situation I think I made the right choice. I found that the "CSI" episode had a great hook at the end, between Grissom's case and Catherine's rape. If I were CBS I wouldn't be panicking just yet.

Of course Grey's had more viewers, the writing is fantastic. I liked CSI, but when making a choice it's Grey's all the way.

I watched both CSI on CBS's InnerTube and Grey's on ABC's annoying player. CSI dare I say was looking vintage and what a cliffhanger for next week. Marg Helgenberger knocked it out of the park by the way.
I found Grey's boring and overwrought. I think this worked on a Sunday night but Thursday feels different. What happened to Bailey? How long can you keep the Meredith-McDreamy-Allison triangle going without truly going overboard?
I guess I prefer to solve interesting crimes forensically rather than watching doctors play high school in a hospital.

I watched CSI and caught Grey's Anatomy on Friday when it re-aired. I thought CSI was rivoting, whereas Grey's was ridiculously slow. I was disappointed with Grey's, but then again, I didn't much care for the season finale either :-/. I'll be a CSI I junkie on Thursday and a day late for Grey's.

CSI is getting a bit boring, so much gratis blood & guts. And I have never watched a complete episode of Grey's Anatomy since, as suggested by a prior comment, they are acting like high schoolers. Give me an old-fashioned Law and Order anytime or Missing or Cold Case where sex is just a natural by-product not the main focus.

Hummm. Have never watched Grey's Anatomy and probably never will. On Sunday it was up against something else that I watched - Now it is up against the only show I have ever watched faithfully=CSI. I rarely watch the other CSI shows. I find them to be cold characters and as much as I enjoy watching David Caruso, I'msick of watching him "take a stance" everytime he is going to be "profound."
CSI has always held my attention. I loved characters and the way they interact with each other. They are friends; they care about each other; they cover each other's backs but are still loyal to their jobs; they dont have sex with each other and until year before last it looked like we would make it through without any of the team becoming involved with each other.
But, then a writer raised his ugly head and lo and behold someone decided Grissom needed a playmate and of all the people they chose the one person who I think could leave the show and no one would miss her.
Um, um,um - broke my heart. Grey's is looking better, I guess. Actually, will go backto ER even though that show is really wacky with relationships, but I do like John Stamos.
Wish they would just let the characters continue to be good friends. My opinion of SS will blow the minds of some of ya'll (yeah,I'm from the South).
VENTING: She is homely; has absolutely no personality; has nothing to offer - is reasonably intelligent (of course, none of them are geniuses except Gil); talks in a monotone voice with little or no expression; has never seemed to want anything but to get next to Grissom (which I suppose they are planning to let her succeed in doing); no sense of humor; she looked awful in that sexless robe she had on in the last episode of last season - there is nothing sexy about her; she dresses like a dyke; has no taste in clothing; no feminine qualities at all. Someone please tell me what Grissom sees in her.
Oh,well, off to the TV set. Humm, has anyone seen the new L&O? I have been watching that one since the beginning, too. I must have missed a few weeks. I don't know what is going on on that show. Everyone has changed.
Thanks for letting me "tell you what I think about our favorite show."

I guess this is the closest thing we are going to get for a writeup on the season opener of CSI...?
I thought the first 50 minutes absolutely stunk. I kept waiting for the show to get going. It didn't get interesting until the model/murder and Catherines situation.
Very odd opener.
