If you've been enjoying the series Brotherhood (and Mike C.'s reviews of the show), then Showtime gave you some good news the other day when it renewed the original series for a second season. The show is about two Irish-American brothers -- one is a local politician, and one is involved in their neighborhood's Irish mob, and he's back from being in hiding -- and it has been getting tons of great reviews from critics. It looks like Showtime is finally starting to get a roster of original series that might start rivaling HBO's. Between this series and Weeds, the network is starting to generate buzzworthy shows that keep people tuning in week after week. The timing is good, since HBO's slate is at a bit of a weak point, with The Sopranos winding down and the failure of its first "traditional sitcom," Lucky Louie.

This series is great. The first episode was shown on CBS on a late Friday night and was spectacular. Hopefully they'll throw it on itunes like Fat Actress as well as the other show you didn;t mention, Sleeper Cell. Sleeper cell was my favorite show without a doubt. It stuck toits guns, nothing outside the scope of possible, no sudden technical marvel as seen in Alias or MI-5 or especially 24.
I think if yuo look at the real Rhode Island politcis as well you'll see they have TONS of material to work with. The show is fantastic.

Blake Masters told fans to have some faith in the writers and that ALL the principal characters will return.

Of course MC is NOT ***d!
Blake Masters is brilliant. He's taken the Irish mob in Boston and transported them to Federal Hill! Master's really has a handle on the both the political and the street in RI. Brotherhood is much more believable than the Sopranos. I'll bet Tommy is Judd's son!!!! Let's see a little more of Rhode Island.
Rhode's on the Pawtuxet was just a tease. Eileen is a bit much though. Her next stop may be Butler, when Tommy has a reality check regarding their marriage......
Can't wait for next season. And I don't like television, but this show is a winner.

This is probably the best series on TV. It has excellent writing, superb acting and a universal theme involving family. The characters are not all good or all bad but rather shades of gray which one finds among people.
