(S03E10) Damn those Project Runway producers. Damn. Them. To. Hell. How dare they bring back Vincent and Angela?... In the same episode?! I almost threw up on myself, I was so furious. I thought my Runway-related anger was ready to retire, but I guess it was too soon. No. The producers just had to make my blood boil one more time and now I've learned not to trust them. I'm ready for absolutely anything now... Go on, producers. Do your worst. Bring Wendy Pepper back and stick her in the final challenge.I take that back. Please, please, please, for the love of everything that is good and holy, do not bring Wendy Pepper back.
So... anyway... Heidi Klum presented Vincent and Angela with the opportunity to re-join the game because they had both won previous challenges (Heidi mentioned a long time ago that winning challengers would have additional benefits). Absolutely everyone was shocked... and somewhat disgusted.
In order for Vincent or Angela to rejoin, they had to win this challenge. That also meant that three designers would have to be eliminated instead of the usual one.
They were told to create a cocktail dress with strictly black and white fabric. Not only that, but they had to use every single bit of fabric purchased. Ooh. Tough. The guest judge was Zak Posen. Follow along by checking out the designs on "Rate the Runway".
Michael: Yet another stunning piece... Not only did Michael make a great dress, but he actually accomplished the near-impossible task of making a cummerbund pretty. This man has yet to disappoint me. It's not often that I find myself completely agreeing with the judges, but just about everyone is crazy for Michael. Hurrah for a Michael-loving consensus! I'm not worried about him... He's gotta be in the Top Three.
Laura: [WINNER] I couldn't help but clap a little bit when Laura won. The woman has finally made something youthful! She really took the silhouette into consideration and, obviously, it paid off. I also really liked the fact that she didn't bullshit her way through the scrap fabric (they way Vincent and Angela did) and actually made something from it all. Now, if only someone could get Laura to stop wearing those low-V tops (lady, you're a pregnant mommy!), everything will be roses.
Kayne: [OUT] Darling Kayne was booted after some minor poor decisions. I didn't like the weird back to his dress... If he had laced it up in a more attractive way and thrown in a bit more white, he probably would have won the challenge. I didn't spend much time mourning Kayne's departure because I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more from him in the future. That guy's going to get so many calls from beauty queens all across the world. He may not be cut out for the runway, but the boy can make a fierce gown.
Uli: The judges were unhappy with the fact that Uli has fallen into the trend of doing virtually the same thing every challenge. Flowy, print-oriented, and only appropriate for hot weather. Actually, I think that if one were to take all of Uli's designs from the entire season and group them together, they'd probably look like a collection. I really like Uli, so I hope she finds a way to wriggle out of that box.
Vincent: [OUT... AGAIN] The show briefly mentioned the terrible accident that happened to Vincent's original model, Jia. It was very, very quick. Another model was chosen to play Vincent's victim (was anyone else startled by how mannish she was?). The outfit was too short and it looked really cheap... I still have yet to understand exactly why he chose to use his extra fabric as a cape thing instead of adding it to the skirt. Honestly, Vincent didn't have a snowball's chance in Hell, coming back. Although I was initially pissed to see him again, I didn't worry much through the episode.
Jeffrey: [ALMOST OUT] Tacky. Sad and tacky. The leggings were hideous, the top was horrible... so, it was pretty much the perfect outfit for the party girls of today's tabloids. However, for a cocktail party, it was just a big no-no. Jeffrey must be going to some pretty fucked up cocktail parties in LA.
Angela: [OUT... AGAIN] Oh, Angela. It was cute how she thought she had a chance. If Dracula were to ever develop a penchant for fleurchons and cross-dressing, he'd head straight to Angela. I had trouble picturing her outfit at a cocktail party (well, one from this planet, anyway). Eh. Just like with Vincent's case, I wasn't worried about an Angela victory. She didn't have a chance.

I wanted to hug Laura at the end. She had such a hard time in this episode (I assume it was the pregnancy hormones that had her on the verge of tears and unsure of herself) that when she won, I was extremely happy for her. That said, I think she or Jeffrey should go next.
I love Jeffrey in the bottom two every week even if he's not eliminated. It's just fun to see him squirm and I keep waiting for him to pull a Santino and sass the judges and tell them why they're idiots for not loving his work.
Lastly, I'm so glad to learn that the original spoiler about Jia's accident was wrong, and did NOT happen in the final episode. If Vincent was one of the final three designers I would have sworn off all reality programming forever.

I am glad for Laura. She escaped from her box, now Uli needs to do the same. Jeffrey needs to be locked into a box.
I agreed with Laura that Angela should not have been brougnt back since her win wa a team win and we all know who pulled the weight on that team.

Dark is the day that Angela and Vincent return to the competition, and Allison doesn't! But yeah, Angela's win was a team challenge, and Vincent's was a fluke (Uli should've won that one), so I wasn't really worried that either of them would actually be staying.

I loved how Laura was telling Angela she shouldn't be in because of the team win and Angela saying "but I was the designer and thats how the fashion world works.." with the show then playing clips of Angela not doing any extra design.

Kayne's dress was bad [mainly in the back] but Jeffery's dress was just BAD all the way around! Jeffery should have been eliminated but he is being kept around for the drama he brings as the villian. I really don't want to believe this show is rigged but sometimes I really have to wonder. :(

I loved that Michael Kors dressed appropriately for the occasion, at least the Black part, Bravo Bravo! The sexy little number really must get him off.
Nina though is just such a bore, the same hairstyle, the same atrocious look. It's so... first season.

I was shocked thet Angela and Vincent were back. Perhaps they had to do this stunt because they had eliminated Keith and needed an extra show. Both were consistently almost out through most of the season. I thought Allison was better over all, but one bad challenge can do them in.

As much as I love Kayne - he didn't deliver for this particular episode, The design challenge was Black & White- Tim Gunn summed up what Kayne designed, Kayne used a trim not an actual garment. That dress was really pretty though but then again, where is the white?
Angela's dress reminded me of Dracula's wife, she really can't get her hands off those Poofy-Flowery thingy's, What so Edwardian about that?, It looked like a Dracula Collar Sprayed with Whipping cream on it, I guess Laura was right, The reason she won the Macy's challenge is because " It was a group effort"
What the F*&$@# were they thinking bringing that Demented Vincent back? - This guy is not even qualified to design for circus clowns!...He shouldn't blame Javee for a poorly designed garment, If he made it nicely, the zippers wouldn't have popped right out of that thing - He should join a Glue-la-palooza contest not a Fashion Design competition...And what a lame excuse for that awful looking shrug, cape, mantle cover of some sort that he made...Zac & Michael really nailed him, Glad this guy got the boot out....twice!
