(S02E22) Well, as was reported earlier, they won't really be called Supernova now that a judge has ruled they can't use that name but the ragtag rockers have picked their lead singer. Like Big Brother's finale last night, this one was a total snore resulting in a reveal that everyone already knew anyway (anyone who reads internet rumors that is). It's not surprising to see Toby and Magni in the bottom two since Dilana and Lukas have been the chosen ones since the beginning but I had hoped that the Toby fans would skew the voting. Was the Rand Wagon just a fiction to keep us involved in the show?
Once again Magni sings Fire and he does a great job but he seems to know he is going home. He's a great musician. He could be a strong member of any band, he's just not going to bring nations of ladies to their knees.
Toby breaks out White Wedding. I wonder if Toby performs in 1980s cover bands. He's quite fit but might want to stay away from buttoning shirts up to his throat, it makes him look a bit too beefy.
What is Lukas doing in a Survivor commercial? Hello, foreshadowing.
Lukas sings Bittersweet Symphony, Dilana sing Zombie and Toby takes on Somebody Told Me. This is all a big slice of filler. Of all of them Lukas seems the most passionate. I realize that I have become so accustomed to Toby pulling a stunt three quarters of the way through a song that I am waiting for him to rip off his shirt or do a flip or something. Instead, he mainly seems to be rushing through it.
The band wastes no time is dispatching Toby who seems to know he was fighting a losing battle anyway. It's no big surprise when Lukas gets the nod as the lead singer. After all, as I said after the first episode, it's been his to lose all along. Dilana manages to hold it together especially since they offer her the services of the house band on tour and Gilby and Dave Navarro offer to help her create an album. I suspect the final group of rockers have known that it was going to be Lukas for a while.
A fashion aside, Lukas should rethink the long coat. For someone so height-challenged, a shorter jacket would be much better. He's not bad with the band but I suspect Jason Newsted's going to be nagging him about closing off his voice for months to come.

yep... bad choice in Lukas!! His voice would be repitious for a whole concert.Tommy, Gilby and Jason are men not boys and a bit old to appeal to a younger crowd... Lukas is too freaky to appeal to most and not manly enough to pull in others so I don't understand what audience he brings with him.
Toby was the best fit but alas it seems the scuttlebutt was right all along and Lukas was the chosen one from the beginning. Toby had that audience eating out of his hands. Was I the only one who thought the house crowd seemed disappointed at Lukas version of the song with Supernova at the end, the one which Toby rocked only a few weeks ago.
Will miss the show but the band... no... they will disappear once the dust settles and I suspect have a limited shelf life.
Good luck for the future Toby and Dilana...

I think this whole thing was rigged. All the finalists were way better than him. I think a lot of the people kicked off were way better than him. I WON'T be buying their new CD. Too bad, I have loved Jason since early Metallica days.

Don't you get it, Dilana was always too good for the band. If she would have gotten the gig, she would have been the Star, possibly taking away the spotlight. This way the boys are the Stars and Dilana get's Dave and Gilby Producing her Album. Everyone wins because Lukas will never be as good as Dilana and the boys can feel secure that they will be the kings of the road as they prefer, esepcially Tommy Lee. Gilby and Dave will make a bundle off Dilana's album and Dilana will be a star. Lukas will be forgotten down the road. He doesn't have the stuff that Stars are made of, to last that is. We will be seeing him on "Where are they now" 10 years from now, while Dilana will be pumping out her 5 or 6th album! All is not lost, it is a new day in rock n roll!

Ugh - horrible choice. Lukas is fine by himself but to head this band? Not good enough. Dilana was the best singer and Toby the best for fitting in with the band. I gotta say - I don't get the logic here.

EH Lukas !!!! wtg brother canuck. Well done. I agree there are some great singers in the group. We all have our favorits but the band had to pick whom would do them the best. It is a new sound and i feel Lukas can do the job. We all know that the final 4 will end up with some kind of tracks. I will get tickets to see them. To much talent there, for them to not pick whom is right for them. They sure do know more than we do unless you are a aggent! or producer

What a load of crap! We can't believe raccoon boy has won. Was this a set up? Dilana was the best hands down. Unbelievable that they picked somebody that mumbles when he trys to sing. It would be nice to know there reasons why they didn't pick Dilana and choose the raccoon instead. We well being buying Dilana's album not superrubbish album.

I thought the outcome of the show was a disgrace. That it was predetermined by the producers who would win. They picked the worst singer of the top 5 to head their (now) to be named old timers band.
Lukas's vocal's right on? I could barely understand or hear him most the time over the house band. An you think he will be heard any better over these egomaniacs pounding out chords on their guitars and drums? I think not.
Bad choice, it seems they are trying to recapture their lost youth or something. The choice of singer, whos "orginal" is whining about how his mommy yelled at him, is just completely lameo. I can't stand watching him perform, reminded me too much of watching a rooster strut around a barnyard. Hmm fitting...this band is gonna be just fowl anyway.
The other top 5 would have been a better choice by far IMHO. Dilana, Toby, Storm and Magni have so much more talent then him.
Cest La Vie...I am sure this project will disappear soon enough anyway.
GL to the others though, because their stuff I would actually pay to hear

Down here in New Zealand supernova was watched and voted on each week. The final result was heard with amazement as there were better singers than Lukas voted off earlier. I have lost all faith in reality shows as he should never have won.

I cannot believe that Lukas won. What were they thinking? From the start I had hoped that Dilana would win as she really suited the part - amazing voice and she was believable unlike Lukas who is just a poser and not at all equal to her talent. My father also watched on in absolute disgust as it was announced that Lukas won. Needless to say that I will not buy the album when it is released, I will however buy Dilana's.

I think Lukas was a excellent choice for supernova! It was stated during the final episode that Supernova was looking for fresh, newer rock. Magni's voice and personality was too much like Live and with Dilana it would've just been like Evernescence(sp?) or The Cranberries. It was either going to be Toby or Lukas. Im glad it was Lukas as he will be able to learn so much and will do sooooo much good for the band! Supernova will definately be 'a new genre of rock'.
WAY TO GO LUKAS!

I think Lukas was given the job because they are just going to be a 1 cd group. It is better that the rest of the top 4 didn't get it because I can see them actually putting out mutliple albums. Lukas as the leader, yeah not so much. Didn't like him from the start, still don't like him. Funny thing is I said about 4 weeks ago, so long as anyone other than Lukas wins, I will buy the album. Guess I won't be buying an album.

I think lukas suits the part far better than dilana who was horrible as a lyricist and cracked under pressure way to easily personally i think toby suited the bands style more then lukas but im not dissapointed with the outcome lukas is a solid frontman he has the attitude and the intensity hes like a cross of mick jagger and matthew bellamy and it works well
