In response to concerns about profanity from some affiliates, CBS will simulcast the Naudet brothers' September 11th documentary on its website. About 10 percent of CBS affiliates will not air the documentary because they fear steep fines from the FCC for the use of the F-word by firefighters as the real-life drama unfolds. I can't find a list of the affiliates that won't air the documentary, and I'm not sure if your listings are updated so if you're TiVoing it, you may want to be there at 8 pm Sunday night just to make sure it's actually being recorded.CBS will simulcast 9/11 doc on the web

This country's obsession with "political correctness" has got to end! For stations to refuse to broadcast this 911 filmaker's documentary due to profanity coming from firemen who were, as part of their job, risking their lives for others is ludicrous! What's an "f" word or two when you are talking about the worst terrorist attack to hit American soil? These conservative groups need to wake up and recognize that there IS a time and a place for profanity! TV stations should just use a disclaimer at the beginning of any broadcast that tells parents that THEY need to make the decision whether to view the show, or allow any family members to view the show. Period.

There's something funny in the fact that the network that airs "Big Brother" has so many affliates now afraid of the wrath of a Big Brother government hell bent on enforcing the far-right's morality. Sorry if my true colors (hmmm, blue???) show through on this one, but stuff it, am I wrong on this one?

Lisa, I think you're missing the point. The stations don't have a problem with the F-word, the FCC does. Local stations are running on shoestring budgets so a fine from the FCC could shut them down.

Maybe I'm slow, but why can't they "bleep" out the profanity??
