On his official website, Rob Riggle announced that he has signed on as a correspondent for The Daily Show. I still remember him as "that one guy that used to VH1 clip shows with that other guy", but others probably know him from his brief Saturday Night Live stint (hello, Dr. Porkenheimer's Boner Juice) or his appearance as Captain Jack on The Office. Although I never in a million years would have imagined him as a correspondent, I think Riggle has what it takes to join the cast. He's got the right voice for it and, with the right over-dramatic inflection, he'll be insta-reporter.[Via the Daily Show community]

Before his stint on SNL, I remember him as the Culture Guru on Comedy Central's Straight Plan for the Gay Man.

Biggest mistake SNL made in the last 5 years was letting this guy go. Will be very glad to see him on Daily Show. Hopefully he will help fill the void left by the Corddry brothers and Ed Helms.

He was also in Blackballed: the Bobby Dukes Story with both Rob Corddry and Ed Helms, as well as Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel from Best Week Ever. (See this movie, now on DVD!!!) Can't wait to see him on the Daily Show.
