It worked for Mork and Mindy, The Jeffersons, and those crafty crime scene detectives in Miami and New York, so why not Rosie? Now, the cynic in me also has that little voice in the back of his head whispering Joanie Loves Chachi, Joey, and Richie Brockelman, Private Eye, but let's give this one the benefit of the doubt until we know more. Rumor has it that FX is considering a half hour spinoff featuring O'Donnell's character from the upcoming season of Nip/Tuck. The as yet nameless series would be written by Nip/Tuck creator Ryan Murphy. There is no official word on the show at this time, but when asked if she was considering the show by a fan on her website Rosie answered 'yes'. Take that for what it is.
The new season of Nip/Tuck premieres September 5th on FX and will be covered each and every week here at TV Squad. More info on Rosie's Nip/Tuck character after the jump, with small spoilers.

Rosie will play Dawn Budge, a lottery winning housewife who uses part of her newfound $381 million fortune to get liposuction. Then she heads home to New York to dump her husband and start a new life. You can catch her in Episode 5 of the new season. It doesn't sound like a spin off I would watch. Are there any Nip/Tuck fans out there looking forward to this possibility?

Haha, no, that doesn't sound like anything I would be interested in, as much as I love Nip/Tuck, a spin-off like that sounds dreadfully boring.

No... doesn't sound like fans of Nip/Tuck, and I count myself as one, would necessarily follow such a storyline.
If a spin off is to work surely we have to become involved with the charactor much more than over 1 or 2 episodes to follow them to their own show... even then it's real risky... ask Joey.
If the producers think it's a good enough premise... do a pilot like everyone else.

That's what they call a "backdoor pilot" - make a nip/tuck episode that centers on Rosie's character, and use it to try to sell a new series.

Doesn't seem to me that spin-offs typically succeed, but if this one was handled as a comedy, it might work. I'd at least give it a look-see.

If Nip/Tuck has a spinoff it has to be an Ava Moore one, and somehow bring back Adrian. Otherwise I'm not watching.

I am a huge Nip/Tuck fan, but do not like Rosie at all. Never say never, but Ryan Murphy would certainly have his work cut out for him. I agree with the other post suggesting an Ava Moore one. That would be an awesome spinoff.

I actually SHUDDERED when I read Rosie was even making a guest appearance on Nip/Tuck! TO give her a Nip/Tuck spin off show is a sin! Rosie is the least likeable, hard on the eyes actress that cannot act, sing or be nice to other people. She hates and mistrusts anything without a vagina. I feel Rosie sets the Gay and Lesbian 'out of the closet' thing back 20 years. People look and hear how Rosie behaves and they think ALL gays/lesbians are like her. Rosie is one Lesbian that should have STAYED in the closet. But judging by her size - it must have been one HELL of a big assed closet!

spin off of Nip/Tuck?? Zip/Fuck? Or Zipless Fuck if Rosie's involved??
If anyone deserves a spinoff, it's the lovely lady that plays Kimber (Kelly Carlson)... delicious... not sure I'm crazy about the Scientology twist... however, I think it's bold that they even mention it... haven't seen much of that, before... it'd be great if they really exposed a lot of what that belief system is... and explain that it was created by a science fiction writer... Brooke Shields isn't into Scientology, is she?? I don't think so... but a hilarious turn that she decided to hand over ...er, turn the other cheek, to losing her power...
and speaking of cheeks... who was the smarty to write it into Christian's (Julian McMahon) contract that he has to show us his ass at least once during the show? If Matt (John Hensley) shows his, will that be child porn? (How old is he supposed to be?)
and grow back Matt's hair!!! and do something with those eyebrows, man!! He used to be kind of attractive... why are they making him so ugly??!!
And this story arc with the baby... I don't see that will play as there's no way they will have a baby/child with "lobster claw" hands on the show... so either Sean (Dylan Walsh) will miraculously "cure" the condition or Julia (Joely Richardson) will lose the baby... and put Julia either back in school or working again as being strong was a good storyline as her return to being a vacillating whiny bitch is annoying as hell...
as for Annie (Kelsey Batelaan); well, she's now old enough to be causing her own drama...
Alanis Morrisette as Liz's lover??! COOL!!!!
and as we know.... the "Carver"... is NOT really dead!!
