Press Kits Unwrapped: FOX's Happy Hour

Happy Hour Press Kit

As the fall television season draws ever closer, we continue to receive press kits from the networks. This time around it's for FOX's new comedy Happy Hour, which premieres on Thursday, September 7th at 8:30. This particular kit lacks a little in one aspect, while it shines in the other. Let's take a look, shall we . . .

Standard Press Release and DVD

First, there's the standard press release and official preview DVD. What was missing were the written materials that feature information on the actors and the characters they portray on the show. I wonder if this means that there were some last minute changes of actors or characters that needed to be added. If so, that may not bode well for the series (airing at the same time as NBC's The Office is already bad enough.).

Drink Stirrers

Also included in the press kit were some nifty drink stirrers. There are four plastic stirrers in all, two of them with tops that read Happy Hour FOX. They're nice, but a bear to photograph. With the clear plastic on a black background the stirrers are shown as almost translucent in some photos.

Copyright agreement

Finally, if you remember my review of the Bones press kit, there was a blank piece of paper within the materials. I had no idea what it was for. Turns out it was the copyright agreement. The kit for Happy Hour came with the same piece of paper, except with the copyright information typed on it. Well, now that we cleared that up I can go along living my life.
