According to this article, HBO has called on the stars of Little Britain, David Walliams and Matt Lucas, to create an American version of the program. Normally, when I hear plans to American-ize a popular British television show, I cringe, twitch for a few moments, and walk away. In this case, I'm actually somewhat curious to see just how in they're going to pull this off. I suppose they'll be tackling the various regions of the States in a similar style to LB, but will they ever be able to create characters of the same extremity as Lou and Andy or Vicki Pollard?Little Britain to be American-ized for HBO

I personally don't think it's a good idea what the guys will do in the future. This wont happen for another year anyway as they have confirmed another series for 2007 plus TWO Christmas specials.
I am a big fan of Lucas and Walliams which is even why I created a website on them! Feel free to check it out.

My initial reaction was something along the lines of "nooooooooooooooooooo!!" *horrors*
But I am curious as to how they will do it without it becoming just another US sketch show.
It won't be the same though. No british accents, the hunmour will be different, and no Tom Baker narrating! *horrors*

I don't see why it will necessarily change.
Ali G didn't change a whole bunch changing from one to the other. I think in the long run, we'll end up with more of the same, which is what we want out of that.
Maybe the transvestites will change some to fit america, but we have had british peopls on TV before so we can tolerate hearing their voices on TV.

"Little Britain" the series is over. The show next year is completely new. Are Matt and David going to be in this? No one can seem to confirm that.
