This has to be one of the funniest, though embarrassing, live news bloopers I've seen in a long, long time. Though I guess if it wasn't embarrassing for someone it wouldn't have been as funny...
While CNN was showing footage of President Bush giving a speech, the audio that viewers heard was anchor Kyra Phillips. No, not at the anchor desk, but in the CNN ladies room! You can hear Phillips talking to another CNN staff member, and even hear her "zip up" at one point.
But the most embarrassing part might be the part where Phillips insults her sister-in-law...before anchor Daryn Kagan jumps in. Video after the jump!

Makes you thankful that you don't have to wear a mic at work doesn't it? It sure is a good reminder of how you never really know who's listening...

It's going to be fun at the Phillips' Thanksgiving dinner when Kyra needs to go use the 'little girls room'.

Another piss-poor performance by CNN, the most trusted name in bathrooms.

Why would she discuss her personal business (besides the loo activity) in a public ladies' room? Did the audience hear her flush and wash her hands, too? Or did she?

Oh Snap!! That is so sad, yet funny. Well now sister in law will know why everyone looks at her that way. Karma for CNN. Always ready to jump at the chance to embarrass the Pres. and other officials when their mics are on. How ironic.

CANNIBILISTIC JOURNALISM:
WELL, WE ALL ALREADY KNOW THAT THE MEDIA TAKES GREAT PLEASURE IN RIPPING APART AND SHREDDING ANYONE IT CAN...THE BLOODIER THE ATTACK, AND THE MORE WOUNDED THE VICTIM, THE BETTER FOR NEWS. HOWEVER, I WAS SURPRISED THAT THEY ARE ALSO CANNIBLISTIC AS (WELL AS PREDATORY)& EVEN WENT SO FAR AS TO HUMILIATE THEIR OWN BY EXPLOITING THE REPORTER'S EMBARRASMENT REPEATEDLY FOR DAYS NOW. THEY COULD HAVE LEFT IT WITH THE BLOOPER LIVE BROADCAST, BUT INSTEAD HAD TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY CAPITALIZED ON EVEN ONE OF THEIR OWN'S PERSONAL SHAME. WHAT ANIMAL IS THAT THAT EATS ITS OWN?

The real culprit here is the audio engineer. All the anchor can do is turn the mike on or off - and sometimes they can't even do that. It's the guy on the audio board who determines whether the signal actually goes anywhere. It even sounded to me at one point as if Bush's audio was cut back and hers was boosted. I'm guessing someone in the control booth had it in for her, and found an opportunity for a convenient "whoopsie".

If it had been Fox (Republican) News, they would have called it a Democratic conspiracy and talked about how it was Bill Clinton's fault that her mic was still on.

Funny, I agree, but, how did it get to that point. CNN where is you dignity to let this happen? I agree I did laugh, but when I did I thought about our president and how embarssing as a Nation that we let something like this happen, especially with him speaking. Are we to the point that laughter is so important that we forget who is dying while this is going on? Again CNN how did this happen?
