RE: the comment about "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Office":
"Here's how you know ABC is moving "Grey's Anatomy" to Thursday nights: NBC wants you to think that "The Office" is getting soft."
Yeah, it's poorly phrased, but the writer, Joanna Weiss, is essentially saying, "For all you people who like pathos, romance, and relationship TV - check out "The Office" because it has all that, too. You don't need to watch 'Grey's Anatomy' - we've got the Pam and Jim drama for you."

Sorry - to clarify - NBC wants you to think that, not Joanna Weiss. She's saying NBC is reacting to the "Grey's" move by positioning "The Office" as a touchy-feely show in certain ads.

The Studio 60 review also neglects to take into account the fact that it's a pilot, and the characters are likely drawn much more broadly than they will be after a season or two.
My biggest problem is with Amanda Peet. She's clearly reciting dialog that's smarter than she is.

I understood what she was saying about the office, but Grey's is on later than the office and won't be going up against it directly, so I'm not sure the point is 100% valid.

Yeah Meg, I caught that too. The Office is on at 8:30 and Grey's is on at 9. But my main confusion in the piece is the line "Here's how you know ABC is moving Grey's Anatomy to Thursday nights." Huh? The way I know it's moving to Thursday nights is because ABC said so and I've seen their schedule.

I don't know, I have to at least partly agree with the Studio 60 review. It really didn't seem all that groundbreaking of a show, for Aaron Sorkin. It was good, sure, but, ... I don't know. The ridiculous awesomeness of The West Wing that Sorkin is trying to shoehorn into Studio 60 seems too big for it's britches, so to speak.
