(S01E15) So, how creepy is that opening scene in the hospital? Yikes. Scully insists that a fellow FBI agent, who was shot during a bank robbery, be revived. As the doctors are hitting him with the defibrillator, the dead body on the next bed is bouncing with the electric shocks. The dead body is that of the bank robber. This is the only good part of this episode, by the way.

When the FBI agent wakes up, he's not himself. He obviously has the mind of the bank robber but the body of the agent. Since Scully is the one who shot the robber, methinks she's in a bit of danger.

There's not a lot to this episode. We know from the very beginning what Mulder suspects about Agent Jack Willis is true and we pretty much sit around during the rest of the episode waiting for him to do something. Mulder notices that Willis is using his left hand to write, when he's right-handed. And he shares a birthday with Scully but he doesn't seem to remember that. I guess the only big question is whether the body of Willis has any of Willis' memory or if he's all bank robber.

Willis' body brings Scully along as they look for his wife. He handcuffs Scully to a radiator and tells his wife that he's really the robber, DuPree. Scully refuses to believe it until Willis starts to go into a diabetic coma because he's drinking too much Shasta. She's obviously not even sure she believes what she's saying when she tells him he needs insulin.

Scully evidently robs a pharmacy for insulin but DuPree's wife won't let her adminster it. She admits that she's the one who tipped the FBI off to DuPree's bank robbery. She calls the FBI and demands $1 million for Scully's safe return. Blah, blah, blah... the FBI finds Scully, the girlfriend and Willis/DuPree in their hideout. They save Scully but Willis/DuPree kills his wife and then he just dies.
