ABC gives green light to Crime Prevention Unit

ABC has ordered a pilot from Charmed producer Daniel Cerone and Threshold producer David Heyman called Crime Prevention Unit, based on a British detective series.
The series follows a crack investigative team that solves crimes. So it's like Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Or CSI. Or CSI: Miami. Or CSI: NY. Or The Closer. Or how about Criminal Minds? Maybe with a dash of Numb3rs or Without a Trace mixed in?
Hey, it could be good, but how about a cool, old-fashioned private eye show, like Magnum, P.I. or Spenser: For Hire, huh?

It's more like Minority Report, but without the sci-fi. The unit tries to prevent crimes before they happen, not investigate them after they've happened.

This was just plain sloppy reporting, Bob. The title of the show has 'prevention' in it and the article you link to says 'that tracks and apprehends criminals before they are able to commit a crime'. How does that sound like any of the shows you list?
The original British show is called Murder Prevention Unit and aired on BBC America a short while ago. Quite good actually:

I'm guessing ABC don't want to limit themselevs to just murders.

I really hope that they think of a better title.
