There are just some shows that get in creative troubles from day one; look at what happened last year with Commander in Chief. Well, it looks like another ABC show is having some problems right out of the gate. Marti Noxon, the executive producer and show runner for Brothers & Sisters, a new show starring Calista Flockhart, has left the show, reportedly over conflicts with the show's creator. The show, which is set to air Sundays at 10, is reported to still be in production, though a new show runner hasn't been named.Remember, a couple of casting changes have already been announced for this show, including the casting of Sally Field as the mother of those brothers and sisters in the title. She replaced Betty Buckley, who played the role in the pilot.
Not a good sign for a show in such a high profile slot, is it?

This is how I think the show will perform
First week: 15 million viewers
2nd Week- 12 million
3rd- 10 million
4th-8th week- stays at 10 million
9th and beyond- falls to 8 million, goes on hiatus, comes back with 6 million, is cancelled.

Not a good sign at all. First, the rumors revolving some bad behavior between the actors, and now this... This show is going to turn out to be just a huge mess.

I really like this show. I have watched every week since the first episode. I think the writing is very creative. The characters are like an extention of my own family! I look forward to watching every Sunday!
GReat show, watch it before you knock it!

Why must ABC and other networks pander to the Gay community with shows like Brothers and Sisters? It is highly offensive to me to see two men kissing, and I think I'm in the majority in feeling like this.
The deviant sexual behavior of a small minority of our population need not be shoved down the throats of the majority! (No pun intended!)

Who sponsors this crap? I am homophobic! Great cast, great acting, bad idea to have guys kissing! We all know about gay people, we just do not want to see them. They have so many interesting stories going on that they could have lasted a long time. But now, they can kiss my ass and I hope get canceled before next week.

This show is brilliant! It displays dysfunction in reality. This family, despite its myriad trials and tribulations, bickers and bites, but it also relies upon one another when it really matters. It shows family as it should – with flaws, but with the functionality and the love that not only comes with it but conquers everything in the end.
Now, as for all of you who have trouble with seeing gay characters portrayed on screen, it’s really time to face the times we all live in. Gay people live and love just like the rest of society and have no reason to not live their lives. If they cannot display simple acts of affection, then why not just stone them to death for having feelings because you wish to imprison them within their own skin. How would you feel if you could never express yourself or even see a simple heterosexual kiss on screen?

It seems that every new show these days has to have a gay story line. I know homosexuals are a reality but I just don't want to see them in physical contact with each other. I don't really think it's a necessity to show intimate displays of heterosexual physical affection either, so I don't think I'm being discriminatory. The lifestyle brings a lot of pain so why should we teach our children that it is okay? I like to watch new shows, but as soon as they get into the gay stories, I'm done with it. Does EVERYTHING have to be based on sex, sex, sex?

I do not watch the show but my husband is a huge fan of it. All of you people that are bashing the gay storyline are indeed quite ignorant and are NOT in the majority as one poster stated. I was legally civil unioned this past summer to my husband, we had a huge wedding in a catering hall from the first dance to the cutting of the cake, sit down dinner and venetian hour. I don't see how we celebrate to be any different than a heterosexual couple. If you can find love once in your life you are a very fortunate person. If you are one to bash two people in love you need to take a look at your own life and ask yourself...Are you Happy?
There is no rules to love and there certainly isn't any laws prohibiting love! So I say to all you ignorant homophobic people, concentrate on your own lives and give yourself a reality check. Gay people are not the enemy, the true enemy is the self loathing and unhappiness you harbor within.

I personally think the writing is exceptional, and the story line unique. I enjoy watching and will continue to watch, as for the gay characters...if it bothers you surf and find something that doesn't offend you.
Life is not perfect and the everyone doesn't fit into the perfect mold. As old blue eyes would say, "That's Life."

I LOVE THIS SHOW!! I look forward to watching every week & glad it's on right after DH, two great shows together! Although I don't particularly love watching two men kissing, the show is too good to not watch b/c of that. Just close your eyes during those parts! You're all missing a great show if you let that stop you!

For those of you bashing the gay story line of the show, if you are too immature to handle watching shows of affection, don't watch. Hopefully you will grow up and become more enlightened as grow old. Unfortunately, many will just grow old. I have not seen the show, but would definitely rather watch two men kissing than two men bashing the hell out of each other, which is much more prevalent on tv and in movies.

I enjoy the show and ALL its characters. I was actually glad to see two men kissing because that is life and wherever you find love is good. God does not care who you love just that you do.

I agree with those who wish not to see two men kissing along with all the excessive sex on television these days. I stopped watching Boston Legal when it went too far. It's a shame to cram an agenda into a program with such great writing(otherwise) and acting. Also, has anyone ever noticed that with sex between gays...the "parts" don't fit? Common sense alone tells us that it isn't right.

I don't have a problem with gay relationships, and in fact support gay marriage. However I do not believe that the majority of our population feel that way. This show and it's acceptance of the brother who is gay could be a great educational tool to show those who are apposed that love is good regardless of orientation. But when you show the two men kissing the people that need to learn to accept will only be offended and turn away from this show altogether. So if you want to gain acceptance, right or wrong, it has to be done with good timing. I am sorry it has to be done that way, but such is life. One of our first lessons was to ask our parents for something when the time was right. It is a lesson we use throughout life - with teachers, friends, bosses and . . . . .

Brothers and Sisters is AWFUL. It's the TV version of the New York Yankees. Lot's of talent that just doesn't seem to come together. The character arcs are about 10 feet long. It's more predictable than a Jerry Springer show....we all know that Uncle Saul is the bad guy.
Great idea...bad execution. HBO and Showtime still know how to deliver REAL drama

I have watched the show from the beginning and have enjoyed it. It is very close to reality and they have dealt with all of their problems and seem to be working through them. The gay life style is not a choice of the person, we know that and putting off dealing with it serves no purpose. There will never be a right time for everyone but if it is that difficult for you, find another show. I give ABC and the sponsors a great deal of credit for dealing with all the issues they have so far in an adult manner. The best to the entire ensemble. Ruthie

With such a talented cast, I fear for it's livelihood. I mean would it kill the writers to toss in a few more humorous moments? I like the show, it just needs to have more light heartedness. God, life is too freaking depressing anyway. I watch the tube for entertainment. Not to see a trainwreck.
