When I first heard that a film spoof based on March of the Penguins was being made, I thought the idea sounded kind of lame. However, the more I hear about it, and some of the great TV personalities involved such as Lewis Black, Dane Cook, Tracy Morgan, Jamie Kennedy, and Bob Saget (who wrote and directed the film, and provides the voice of the lead penguin), I think the mockumentary might actually be decent. Ok, actually I'm not a huge Dane Cook fan, but whatever, Farce of the Penguins sounds like it's going to be pretty funny. Apparently the first draft of the film had to be toned down quite a bit for theatrical release, so I'm looking forward to some of that quality Saget blue humor. Look for it to come out sometime later this year.TV personalities take on the penguins

Saget has been unfunny in a wide variety of settings. The closest he cames was on the CBS morning show long ago. Each new try leaves me less wanting to watch him.
Now he decides it would be hollywood funny to take on an absolutely special movie about my favorite creature. I live for well done satire and cynicism but I am offended by this. Penguins have always been easy to laugh with - so there's no show of brilliance in his finding the object of satire here. And the picture was so special that picking it as his object sounds more like ripping off the popular for the sake of dollar. I'd be a lot more impressed by his attempting a truly funny film about important problems in the world, eg real humor on the issues raised by michael moore or al gore's issues. global warming in fact affects penguins. But i suspect Bob Saget is unconcerned about this or any other real problem facing penguins and won't feel the least compunction to share the riches he receives off penguins with them

Barry,
That is the single funniest comment I have ever read. Please keep them coming. I know the penguins would have appreciated your notes if they had the ability to give a crap. I also would like to ask you if you have done anything to help the penguin’s plight other than looking them up on the computer made by companies that add to pollutions that increase global warming that kills your sacred penguins?
