Too bad for Brent Spiner. CBS canceled Threshold before he got the chance to make out with Catherine Bell. That's just one of many revelations in this TV Guide article by Threshold creator Brannon Braga. Only 8 episodes of Threshold aired before CBS pulled the plug on the sci fi show last season. Fans will get to see all 12 episodes on the DVD, including the finale that Braga admits was thrown together to at least give the audience some closure. In it, Dr. Molly Cafferty (Carla Gugino) dreams about the first alien-human child, who tells her that her plan will work but she will not live to see it.Other tidbits about how season one of Threshold was supposed to end after the jump.
- Cafferty gets booted from her own project by an overzealous politician;
- Cafferty teams up with a 'vigilante' to progress with her plan, and they end up becoming lovers;
- Dr. Nigel Fenway (Brent Spiner) was going to have a relationship with a new member of the group (Catherine Bell);
- Arthur Ramsey (Peter Dinklage) "was going to spiral out of control after he sleeps with an alien stripper";
- The season finale would've ended with 80 more alien probes arriving on earth and "all hell breaks loose."

I loved this show and was so disappointed when it got yanked. I left my season pass up on Tivo in case they should ever air the rest of the episodes. I guess I will have to rent the DVD's now.

Data and Catherine Bell.
Peter Dinklage unhinged after an alien prostitue encounter.
CBS pulled this show way too early. What better show did they replace it with. On Friday nights, no less. That's where the X-Files started and built its cult following.
(disclaimer, by no means do I compare the two shows)
