I haven't updated on the U.K. Big Brother series for several weeks, mostly because it started to lose whatever appeal it ever had as a reality TV show when the producers introduced half a dozen new housemates half-way through the series, but also because it started to feel like I was watching some kind of bizarre, mind-numbing TV marathon that had absolutely no point to it whatsoever.

In the intervening weeks since my last post on the show, we've lost Nikki (the most irritating person in the western hemisphere), the 'golden ticket' housemate Susie, loudmouth Jayne, Irish DJ Spiral, Michael and Mikey.

Things picked up a few weeks ago when Big Brother introduced a hidden prison in the house and split the housemates up like some kind of Stanley Milgram experiment, but it was temporary relief from the mundanity of this overly-extended offering from Endemol.

However, the Big Brother producers have now introduced an element to the show which will not only prove to be hugely unpopular with the housemates, but has also angered viewers; they're putting a whole bunch of the previously evicted housemates back inside during a public vote on Tuesday night.

I can't think of anything which would incite me to switch this programme off for good than the thought of Nikki returning to the hosue and spending the remaining two weeks wandering around moaning and screetching. For some strange reason, this girl was recently voted the best Big Brother housemate ever. God only knows why.

I know fine well that I'll end up watching it all to the bitter end, but my interest has severely waned this year and I hope the producers happen upon this blog and take some action on what I've been saying about the current series: the housemates are boring, the tasks are mundane, the eviction and re-entry process is a sham, and the whol esperience isn't a patch on the entertainment of recent years.

Get it together BB producers: entertain us, or pack it all in.
