Technically, can the host of a cable comedy show even be considered a god, or does he have to be on one of the major networks?
Check out JonStewartIsGod, a web site devoted to exploring the notion that the Daily Show host is actually God. It explains why he's God and why he's the embodiment of good, including:
"...Next we affirm the existence of an all-encompassing Jon. Jon is self-existent, eternal, unchanging, omnipotent, omnipresent, holy, righteous, and loving (on his good days). Jon created the universe from nothing and He rules sovereign over His creation, including both human and angelic beings. Jon has fully paid off his student loans."
There's even a song! Not bad, actually.

Jon Stewart is the most over-hyped tv personality of this decade.
the star of "The Faculty" and the guy who liked to see things "on weed" from Half Baked has somehow tricked the national media into falling in love with him. id love to see the contract that he signed with the devil.

I thought Google was God. It is all-knowing.
Jason, he also "tricked" millions of viewers into becoming his fans. How could that be possible? Maybe he is God. Or perhaps there's a simpler explanation.

If Jon is God - as in Yeweh - then Craig Kilborn must be El.
Sorry, but I'd prefer Kilborn back on The Daily Show.

He must be the most over-hyped, arrogant gas bag on the face of the earth. His style of say-something-unfunny-laugh-obnoxiously-at-own-joke-and-then-draw-on-a-piece-of-paper is the worst 'acting'/'hosting' (if that) I have ever witnessed.
He brings a bad name to younger-hosts like Colbert and Conan.

I don't know if I have just gotten tired of this show or whether it just isn't as funny as it used to be, but I haven't been able to make it past the first 10 minutes for some time, and part of the reason is Stewart's camera mugging and unfunny "impressions" of the people he's ridiculing. I used to love the show, but it's become nearly unwatchable for me.

Gasbag? Well as long as we're making declarations here, Kilborn=preening gasbag. And not funny. Where'd he go, anyway?
And I don't quite get how Jon Stewart's popularity "brings a bad name" to anyone else. They're all wildly different hosts. Younger? Conan's been hosting his show twice as long as Stewart (and the wikiality is, he's only six months younger.) Colbert (a year and a half younger) actually started on the Daily Show with Craigers.
Oops, gotta go. My conscience is making my brain leak out of my ear for reading and responding to blog comments.

Jon is not a god but he is certainly the best late night host/fake news anchorman. I don't like it when old people don't get youth aimed shows and just bad mouth the person...

Agreed with Diego, and then some.
Jon's not god, but I'll tell you what - the show does present the conscience of many Americans, and probably more importantly, a lot of the rest of the world towards the stupid shit that happens in America.
It's the people who don't like being shown (not told, shown) they are idiots that seem to have a problem with him.

Um, Jon is 43. Conan is 43. Colbert is 42. But don't let the facts get in the way.

To me he's extremely talented, and show like the daily show depend on the news to be exciting: if there are major news, then the content reaches new levels (beginning of a war, elections...). When the events settle, it's harder, but still funny to me. Stewart said it himself right before the 2004 elections: "Make my job more difficult".
The only worry I might have is regarding the correspondents who seem to be on the verge of leaving for other (greener) pastures. It take a long time to appreciate a new face, and if too many leave in a short period, it could hurt the show.
Any way, I dont m'iss a single episode...
