Do you know what it is? Based on the Top 10 shows in 20 countries, one American TV show is the No. 1 TV show in the world.
Any guesses? I'll give you a hint: it's not Lost. The answer after the jump ...
It's ... CSI: Miami!
Um, yeah, I'm sort of confused too. Other countries must have a fixation with American sun and surf, because Baywatch used to be the No. 1 show in the world too, throughout the early to mid 90's. Or maybe it's because they find something interesting in the dull, brooding acting style of David Caruso? Aren't they interested in the shiny lights and excitement of the original CSI's Las Vegas?
Lost and Desperate Housewives are second and third.

Two reasons.
Emily Procter people would literally watch her watching paint dry.
David Caruso - full of hammy goodness.

I typically don't watch the CSI's. But if I happen to, it's "Miami". I guess the dead bodies are more glamorous.

It's all the T & A shots - the first 60 seconds of the show and when they come back from commercials - ALWAYS scantily clad women.

Miami is the real star of the show, it's loved around the world. The number one movie right now is Miami Vice. Because of Colin Farrell? I think not! Also the tired old characters on the original don't hold up to the Miami cast. It's really not that hard to figure out guys.

Ugh! David Caruso's "hammy goodness", in my eyes, is nothing more than horrible acting decisions performed badly. I love the original CSI, but CSI: Miami, which theoretically I should love just as much, is utterly unwatchable to me, and it's because of Caruso and his character. I don't believe Caruso is a bad actor, but my god, Horatio Cane is outright embarrassing, and Caruso should be ashamed of himself, to say nothing of the show's producers and directors who obviously agree with the choices Caruso has made as an actor.
Unwatchable, and lord, how I've tried...

As far as Caruso's role is concerned blame the writers. I don't see how those lines could be delivered in such a way as to not sound exactly like they do.

Why is Carusso's head always cocked sideways when he's talking?
Vegas is still the best.

Carusso was one of the first people i saw on a high-def show that made me say, "Wow, this is way different than what you see on normal tv."

It reminds me of the fact that in the late '80s/early '90s the most popular show in the world was Hunter.

I agree about Carusso's so called acting,he was bad in NYPD Blue, didn't watch that either because of him. I feel badly that I can't watch CSI Miami.Love CSI. Thought Mia would be good also,it maybe be but, because of Carusso I can't stand to watch it. Maybe they don't get the real CSI in the other countries? If they would ditch Carusso I would love to watch CSI Miami.

You gotta be kidding me! Miami over Vegas??? Yeah well I guess to a male driven audience, beaches and bikinis are more exciting but no one has chemistry like Grissom and Sara! CSI Vegas is where it's at!

I can't watch CSI Miami. Mainly because of David Caruso. Someone commented that it was the writers fault.... No one could make the lines sound good. Did anyone watch Caruso on NYPD Blue????? Horatio Caine is John Kelly with sunglasses. It has nothing to do with the writing. It's the actor.

Give Caruso a break...the show is great and he is not the only actor in it. I watch all the CSI programs, all different and all addictive. Horatio is caring, sympathetic, mysterious and tough all at once. Music is great as are the great shots in and around miami. The show is not #1 for nothing guys!! Would love to see Horatio get a little more romantic at times :))

I agree with all those comments from people saying David Caruso has blown his 2nd chance on T.V. He was great atthe beginning of CSI Miami and as soon as it became popular his acting turned into an absurd character who seems to think he's on some Shakespearian stage and he's talking toan adoring audience it's really agonizing watching him without thinking what an egotistical ass!!!

David Caruso is an awesome actor, makes the show. I love all 3 CSI's. Even like the reruns. TNA and the pretty bodies are all a big part of a Miami show. Do believe the CSI Las Vegas is the best of the three. Don't change David, you are doing a great job.
