Gordon Ramsay(S02E08) So there are four chefs left. And this has sort of turned into The Wizard of Oz: Keith needs a brain, Sara needs a heart, Virginia needs courage, and Heather...well, the comparison ends there I guess, because I can't think of something for her. Maybe she wants to find her way back home, I don't know. Sorry, lost the joke there somewhere.

The four chefs get their own restaurant in the first challenge...but it's not what they think.

Each chef is blindfolded and led to their "restaurant" - a "meals on wheels" food truck. They have to take over each one and serve food for a bunch of construction workers working above them. The workers will decide who wins the challenge (and a guaranteed spot in the final three) and who loses.

Heather's menu is judged the worst, Virginia's is judged the best. And then she questions the decision! "Wow, I didn't think it was that good...is this a joke? Did you like it?" Ramsay looks flabbergasted. He reminds her that she's going to the final three. And she's also going shopping.

Heather practically breaks down and cries. Actually, there's no "practically," she really does get incredibly upset and cries. The losers have to clean and prepare crabs for the next dinner service.

So Virginia and Ramsay go shopping at a cooking supply store. And Virginia is walking around like a completely unprofessional goofball. She buys a pink spatula and an apron that says "Kiss The Cook" and wonders what to buy. Then she looks at a "big knife" and asks "what's that called?" That would be a cleaver, Virginia. Ugh.

She also picks up a copy of Ramsay's book, which just happens to be laid out on a table in the book section.

Virginia comes back with gifts for the other three: a cow cream dispenser for Sara, a special glove for Heather, and a device to crack crabs for Keith. They're all pissed since she had $1000 to spend, and only gave them each $10 gifts. I think they can all go to hell, because you know as well as I do that they wouldn't have bought anything extravagant either. If she bought Sara a nice gift, Sara would have laughed at the camera and called her a "fool" behind her back (though I do think Keith's an exception; he picked her to go to Vegas so she should have returned the favor).

Ramsay announces that he has invited three top chefs to come to dinner service. They better not screw up in front of them.

Service begins. Virginia is "spinning her wheels," as the narrator says, while Heather is a dynamo. Personally, I think the only reason she's acting this way is because she knows that it's down to her, Sara, and Keith going home tonight, and I think she's less concerned about the customers and service and more concerned about looking "instense" and "busy" and making Virginia look bad in Ramsay's eyes.

Sara is taking way too much time with the salmon, and Ramsay warns her that she better not ruin the night's perfect (so far) servce. The three chefs tell Ramsay and Keith that the pasta wasn't cooked correctly. Sara runs out of salmon and tells the maitre 'd to ask the table if they can substitute something else. Ramsay calls her a "useless cow," and they start to argue a little bit. Ramsay tells her she's "finished."

STRATEGIC COMMERCIAL HERE

Ramsay tells Heather to replace Sara. But in a twist, Sara actually stands up for herself and WINS. She doesn't need to be replaced, and Ramsay lets her stay. The chef's table says that the Wellington is perfect, but that the peas are burnt (from the huge flame on the stove).

Ramsay calls Sara "a stupid cow" for telling Heather to slow down. Ramsay tells her to apologize. He's also still irritated by Virginia. He's so irritated, in fact, that he says to her: "you're no longer safe!" Ouch.

According to the chef's cards, Heather was by far the best chef of the night. Ramsay tells her to go back to the dorm and pick two for elimination. Inside, Virginia tells her that she no longer deserves to be there. She knows she's not the best chef there and she can't even run a station let alone a restaurant. Sara questions why Heather would also pick her, and Heather is confused. Why would she pick Keith, who did well tonight?

Heather picks Virginia and Sara. Sara defends herself by saying that she might screw up here and there, but overall she's good. Virginia says she's not even sure if she deserves to be there. Ramsay tells her that he promised her that she would be in the final three, and he's a man of his word. If she wants to quit, then Sara will go on. If she wants to say, then Sara will go home. What does she pick?

STRATEGIC COMMERCIAL HERE

Virginia says she doesn't know what she wants. She says that she wants to stay because of her performance, not because "he's a man of his word" and the challenge. Ramsay says he can't help her, it's up to her. Sara wants to say something, but Ramsay tells her to shut the fuck up for 30 seconds. Ramsay wants an answer from Virginia. Virginia decides to stay. Keith and Heather trade incredulous looks (not sure why, what was so shocking?). Ramsay asks Sara for her jacket. Ramsay appreciated her hard work, and Sara kisses him goodbye and goodnaturedly (?) says "kiss my grits" like they say in Texas (also, on Alice).

At the very end, Ramsay explains in voiceover that Sara made too many basic mistakes, isn't a good enough cook, and doesn't deserve her own restaurant. And he tells her to "kiss my grits."
