I miss watching television. I miss electricity and I'm sick of taking cold showers. Most of you may have noticed by now that I never got around to posting a review for this week's episode of Rescue Me, "Satisfaction." Well I have a good reason. I left work this past Tuesday at around 6:30. It was just like any other night... until my subway train stalled and I was stuck on it for two hours. After two empty trains finally pulled up behind us, my fellow passengers and myself used the empty cars and trekked through them back to the previous station we had passed. I was then forced to find another station, in a neighborhood I was unfamiliar with. I took a train that I never take and it was only able to get me to within 12 blocks of my apartment. So I walked... and finally I made it home. Success!
Wrong. As I turned onto my street corner, this is what I saw. Fire engines. Police cruisers. ConEd trucks. Cops, firefighters, men in hard hats. Then I noticed that there were no streetlights. No lights in any windows. But I did see the thick black smoke pouring out of every manhole on the block. Great. So I made my way into my apartment, lit a few candles and amused myself by flicking the light switches and pretending the lights came on. Then I heard it. A loud explosion. I looked out my bedroom window and the manhole cover 15 feet from my front door had blown off and flames were erupting out of it. It was unbelievable. Naturally, at this point, it started raining and there was lightning. This was straight up War of the Worlds in my front yard. I've never seen anything like it. The firemen eventually got the fire out... but my power is still MIA. So forgive me, but I must explore my office because right now I'm enjoying the simple pleasures such as washing my hands with hot water and eating "toast" as opposed to eating just "bread."
(Anyone feel like picking up the reigns and reviewing the actual Rescue Me episode in the comments? I'd love to know what happened.)

Tommy goes with daughter Collen to see school counselor for her behavior problems; ends up asking her about her (his) crying jags ... she suggests survivors guilt over Colin's death and Tommy agrees.
Tommy and Angie go to a police awards event they know Johnny and Janet will be attending; Sheila is parked outside Angie's place and sees them leave; Tommy literally pisses on Johnny's leg and Angie confronts Janet; they leave, Angie is having second thoughts about what they are doing, Tommy puts on the charm and tells her she's great, they end up going back to his place and have sex; Tommy is having problems climaxing.
Janet and Johnny leave the police event; Johnny is drunk and says Tommy doesn't matter, what's imporant is that they are together; Janet hugs him but her expression seems like she is reconsidering the wisdom of the realtionship in the "be careful what you wish for" vein of it not being all it lives up to be.
The following evening, Sheila surprises Tommy with his favorite dinner. She asks about Angie and he says he just bumped into her the other day. Sheila slips Tommy a "micky" of Viagra and a sleeping pill. She ends up taking advantage of Tommy, having sex with hiim while he is passed out. It is a hearbreaking scene as Sheila breaks down and says she misses her dead husband so much and we perhaps get a true glimpse into the dysfunctional motivations for her devotion to Tommy. She realizes the time and hurridly stages the scene to make it look to Tommy like he had a drunken evening and blacked out.
Uncle Lou is watching the girls and Sheila's request and he takes them to a horror movie and a dump of a restaraunt, though he claims it to have "the best steam table around" and hits the girls up for cash to help pay the bill.
Maggie and Sean are back together, but Sean is feeling the effects (literally) of trying to fight guys in order to turn on Maggie. She even picks a fight with a big, imposing guy while they are walking down the street. Sean, upon seing the guy, trys to opt for a nearby bike messenger, but the messenger is prepared and maces Sean in the eyes.
Seems like next week, Tommy asks Angie for antoher chance at getting physical and Janet shows up at Tommy's again wearing next to nothing.
OK ... so Tommy is having or had sex with Janet, Angie, and Sheila; any bets on if Tommy's problem with not having a male heir gets solved by one (or more!) of these rendezvous?

it would be nice if Janet gets pregnant with the new male heir...all depends on the writers looking down the road to keep the viewers of the long run..more than this and next season..if they plan to go that long.
