what kills me about the whole thing is the fact that Siegel made a scene and didn't think twice about it. As if he was entitled to because HE was Joel Siegel and screw the rest of the audience. I hate distruptions when i'm in a movie. I'm like 2 more cell phone rings away from getting into a fight. You would think a movie critic would be the LEAST tolerant about behavior like that.

That audio was the best part of the entire story. KS is just reaming him, and he doesn't realize it.

If the story being reported is true, then Siegel is a dick. Like Kevin Smith or not, Siegel was a dick.

Hey, I'm with Kevin Smith - If your job is to review something you don't walk out in the middle of it. You sit there with your eyes open and your mouth shut and then you rip it to shreds in your column or whatever. You owe it to your audience not only to say that something is a piece of dog crap but to explain why it's a piece of dog crap and you can't do that in an honest manner if you walk out of the theater in the middle of the thing shouting "This is a piece of dog crap!"

Kevin Smith is just milking all the publicity he can out of this -- He now ranks just as bad as M Night who's new movie Lady In the Water opens opposite Clerks 2 this friday -- he says that he is surest person to bet on for a movie to be successful but he doesn't care if anyone likes his movies. He even switched studios because Disney did not get his new movie -- After the village sucked so bad and all this talk -- I'm staying away big time from Lady in the water.

He fully admits he is not good at directing "real movies" and he only enjoys directing his own kinds of films.

So exactly how does that make him a hack?

Kevin Smith is a nothing but a mediocre director seeking any attention neccessary to promote the film. He'll be on Howard Stern next bragging about the whole thing, please. He's a hack.

When I first saw Clerks back in '94, I was blown away. It was the funniest movie that I had watched all year. Sure there was Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, which was a close second, but taking into account that Clerks was shot for under $30,000 from a film school drop out, you had to tip your hat to Kevin Smith.

It was Clerks that launched the successful career that Smith has sustained since his debut film, and twelve years later he is back again with Clerks II. A movie that is without a doubt, the funniest that I have seen in years . . .
