Word is coming out that October 3 will see the release of a special 13 disc DVD set for The Greatest American Hero, the 80s superhero spoof that starred William Katt, Connie Sellecca, and Robert Culp. Besides all 43 episodes, the set will include a cape (!), instructions on how to use the suit (with lights), and an iron on.13 discs for only 43 episodes? What kind of extras are going to be on the set?

Whoever was in charge of the original US DVD release of this series was unable to negotiate the music rights for all the incidental music in the show. This ruined, and I mean ruined, one popular episode in particular which was all about hearing "Eve of Destruction" on the radio. I hope that they have corrected this problem by now...

If it still contains the crappy substitute music instead of the original songs, it's worth nothing.

The only extras they are going to have on this set are a cape, iron on transfer and light up instruction booklet. If you want to see better extras like I do, such as commentary over some episodes by the cast, behind the scenes footage or stills or more interviews with the cast, write to www.anchorbayentertainment.com
They are the company releasing the set. Maybe if enough people ask for some good extras, we might get them to push back the release date and add them.....
