A friend of mine asked me a TV-related question earlier tonight: Has Related been cancelled (his wife wanted to know)? After initally asking him, "What the heck is Related?", I remembered that it was on the WB. So I told him to check the CW's web site, and I sent him what I thought was the URL for it: www.thecw.com. It made sense, since the site for the WB is www.thewb.com, it would make sense that the site for the CW would follow suit.OOPS! When I went to www.thecw.com, I got page saying "This domain is parked free, courtesy of GoDaddy.com." When I Googled "the CW", I found out that the network's site is www.cwtv.com. Interesting how the domain name goes completely counterintuitive to what you would naturally think it would be. I call that a stroke of marketing genius on the part of the CW. "You'll remember us because you can't find us!"
Seriously, though, someone must be holding the domain "thecw.com" hostage, else the network would have snapped it up by now. To that person, I say: give us web browser/TV fans a break and sell the domain to them at a reasonable rate. Else we're going to drive ourselves nuts and just throw bad karma your way, Mr. Domain Squatter, every time we see that parking screen. Though I must admit, this is probably good advertising for GoDaddy (hmm... now I'm starting to understand!).

I remember going to thecw.com a few months ago and seeing that it was an actual website owned by someone else. Hopefully, The CW will own it eventually.

When I began to read post I thought www.thecw.com is real site. Sorry for misunderstanding. I think that domain owner will sell it only if he suppose it to be profitable deal

Hey Bidet, you do know that registering domain names is ridiculously cheap now, right? I think it was under $10 now...
Hopefully the CW will bust him/her for cybersquatting, because this is so obviously what is going on.
