Emmy selections baffle you? Watch the submitted episodes to make your own decisions

Emmy AwardEmmy nominations were a bit baffling this year. Even though there was a new balloting procedure to nominate the best of television, some of the decisions still left many of us scratching our heads. For example, why was Geena Davis from the now canceled Commander in Chief nominated for best actress in a drama series, or, why was Lost and Desperate Housewives were completely left off of the ballot? Well, thanks to a savvy Internet patron and his use of YouTube you can now see the episodes the Emmy nominating committee viewed to determine their choices.

The list of submitted episodes can be found on The Envelope, a Los Angeles Times site dedicated to awards shows. The episodes that are currently up on YouTube (until a stuck-up network lawyer takes them down) include the Emmy-nominated episodes of dramas House, Grey's Anatomy, The Sopranos, 24 and The West Wing and comedy series Scrubs, The Office and Arrested Development. There are some episodes missing, especially when you get down the list to the Best Actor and Best Actress categories.

As the poster to the site mentions, the videos are split into five or six parts, as YouTube has a video length requirement. You can either watch each piece separately, or download all of them at once to watch them consecutively. Of course, if you're downloading them off of a 56K modem you'll probably won't be able to watch them until the actual Emmy telecast is over.
