(S02E03/S02E04) If I had to guess, this show probably offends a lot of people. I think it offends me a little which is probably why I like it so much. So let's dive right in. I will say that I like this two episodes in a row thing but I'm pretty sure it slips back to just one episode next week. Anyway, the first episode was a little misleading. Dennis and Dee didn't actually go on welfare. They tried and ended up becoming crack-heads. Hence they're sunken eyes and saddened faces in the above picture. I believe the saying goes, "crack is whack." Ahh, if only they had known.
See, Frank had been really getting on his kids nerves. He kept making Dennis and Dee do work around the bar (gasp!). So they got sick of it and realized they could collect unemployment and make more than working at Paddy's. After the unemployment ran out (not sure why, it only seemed like a day or two went by), they decided to feign crack-addiction and mental retardation to collect welfare. However, they needed medical records to back it up and since neither of them had done crack before... well, you see where this going. The scene when they first went to buy some was hilarious though. "I'll take two crack rocks? Rocks of crack? Um, two please."
Meanwhile, to hide money from his ex-wife's lawyer, Frank opens a bank account in Charlie's name. Bad idea. Mac and Charlie proceeded to use the money to rent a limo, buy tuxedos with top hats, champagne, hookers, and who knows what else. After all was said and done, Frank promoted Charlie to manager because Charlie showed initiative by stealing the money. He likes that go-getter attitude. These people might be my heroes.
The second episode was even better, probably the best It's Always Sunny... episode yet if you ask me. It was just so well written and honestly, pretty intricate if you think about it. You actually had to pay attention and curb your laughing to grab all the important points. See it all started after Mac banged Dennis' mom. Duh.
Dennis found out and in an effort to get back at him, he tried to sleep with Mac's mom. She rejected him though, not good looking in her book. But there was more to it and I'm positive I'll never explain it properly. Now that Charlie is manager, he makes Dennis and Dee do all the grunt work. Dennis wanted no more of it. So he took Charlie's crush (remember that waitress from the first season?) on a date and threatened Charlie. He said he'd sleep with her if Charlie didn't call off the grunt work. Ugh... I've already confused myself.
So Charlie and Dee concocted some plan and somehow the waitress ended up sleeping with Frank to get back at Dennis, because she thought Dennis was sleeping with multiple old women. I think that makes sense.
Alright, that's enough. Trust me when I say that it was an absolutely fantastic episode and don't take my confusion the wrong way. It was good. If anyone wants to try and explain better than I did in the comments, please do.
Best Quotes:
Dennis (in a sing-songy voice to Mac): "Wahhhh, wahhh, I don't know how to take advantage of government programs."
Charlie (behind his desk, talking to a calculator): "What are you?"

Okay, let me help out with the second episode a little.
Mac slept with Dee and Dennis' mother. He couldn't tell ANYONE, but he told Charile anyway. So after Dennis threw the waitress in Charlie's face, and then Dee came to him wanting out of Charlie work, he agreed as long as she would help him.
Well, the waitress REALLY likes Dennis and won't sleep with him yet, so he tells her that he loves her...but then Charlie calls so Dennis ends up not sleeping with her.
So Charlie made sure Dennis found out about Mac and his mom, and suggested that CDennis sleep with Mac's mom.
Who turned him down saying he was "not sexually attractive" meanwhile Dee sat outside in the car with the waitress who watched Dennis walk out of Mac's mothers house.
Still with me?
So then somehow, Dee and Dennis talk and Dee tells Dennis that to get out of Charlie work, Charlie is making her have sex with him, and the only way to get back at him is to sleep with Charlie;s mom.
Who also turns him down, saying he's not sexually attractive. Meanwhile Dee and the waitress are outside the house in the car again, and see Dennis comming out of the house. So she starts crying blah blah blah "he said he loved me" blah blah blah.
So Dee tells her the only way to get back at Dennis is to sleep with Charlie.
So Dee helps charlie get ready for his date, and as he;s about to leave, Frank and the waitress show up, and in the most amazing crazy emotional breakdown she explains to Dennis that he drove her to this because he likes to sleep with old women, and the episode ends with just a shot of Charlie with the weirdest look on his face, (probably because all his CRAZY scheming ended up really hurting the girl he liked)
Annnnnnd I think that's it. I love this show, it's hysterical and I think it DOES offend a lot of people.
Did you EVER notice how often they drink and drive? Last week, Dennis and I think Charlie both chugged a pitcher of beer and RIGHT after Dennis drove. They do it allllllll the time. lol.

The first mom told the one guy he was "ugly." The second said he wasn't "sexually attractive."
This is a weird show, which I hadn't caught before last night. I'm not sure I like it.

Lacey: slight correction to the first paragraph of your recap (comment #1). You say that Mac slept with Dennis' mom and then told Charlie anyway. To be perfectly accurate, Mac told Charlie that he thinks he COULD HAVE slept with Dennis' mom; then Charlie tells him that he has to because an opportunity like that only comes around once in a lifetime, and Dennis & Dee will never find out anyway. He did this because of Dennis bringing in the waitress and threatening to sleep with her. So basically Charlie is the puppetmaster :-) Great stuff frankly.

Jason. Thanks for the correction :)
It is great stuff, lol, I like watching people carry out ridiculous plans like that.
And I also like how Charlie got his in the end. Because he hurt the girl he likes.
I'm so addicted to this show.

These were only the third and fourth full eps I've watched, and I gotta say: This show cracks me up so much it blows my mind. Man, I figured that when Dennis and Dee went to go buy crack, the big joke would be how their complete incompetence at basically everything would prevent them from accomplishing something even crack-whores do easily. And then, when that turned out not to be the case, I figured the joke was that they try it once and it inspires them to go get jobs.
Nope and nope. The joke is that they literally become crack addicts. In like one day! That's when you know you've hit a comedy sweet spot: When any of your characters can do anything and it works.

The first of this two parter (which, IMO, was the best of the two) sealed it for me that this is the best comedy on TV, period. With Arrested gone, there's no contest IMO (unless somehow Curb returns). It's that much better than everything else. Like an above commenter said, they can do ANYTHING on this show. I'm still cracking up from a few episodes back when Charlie and Mac debated when it's appropriate to use the word jew.

I Don't see what the big deal is, i don't find it very offensive at all(then again, i've been watchin shows like family guy and that 70s show since i was about 7.)Anyways, every episode makes me crap up. Especially Charlie's HILLARIOUS mood swings I watch it 4 times between every thursday and sunday! Hope there's many more seasons to come!

I missed the Crack eppisode and I'm bummed. Although my grandma seen it and it's her favorite eppisode so far. Mine is the abortion one. Anyways, is there a way of finding out when this eppisode will be on again?
