There are so many cable channels now - I think I have one on my cable system which is just 24 hours of programming about cheese - that it's hard to keep track of them all. Did you know there's an i network? From ION Media Networks. I've never heard of it, but they reach 90 million homes.
They just made a deal with Sony to start showing classic Sony Pictures movies and television series. The shows include Charlie's Angels, Starsky and Hutch, The Monkees, The Partridge Family, and Silver Spoons.
So, basically, it sounds like TV Land or Nick at Nite, only with crappier shows.

The i network is an independent (not really) OTA network, not cable.

"i Network" is what used to be PAX...they changed the name awhile back and it wasn't even as publicized as the WB/UPN -> the CW change...

Maybe this is an indication that Sony is finally getting with the program and seeking out some new outlets. I'm convinced that the only reason Sony isn't on iTunes yet -- Viacom, NBC, CBS and Fox are -- is that it means the iPod wins and Sony loses in the player wars. Well, iPod wins. Bring on "Seinfeld."
Warner Brothers is the only other major that doesn't have TV shows on iTunes, but I assume they'll be joining before the fall TV season when everyone else will be pushing their pilots on iTunes. "Without a Trace," "Old Christine" and all those CW teen shows need to be on iTunes.

Sony might be planning its own online presence -- kind of a hybrid iTunes/in2tv/YouTube. It recently filed USPTO docs to protect the phrases 'Our Network' and 'Our TV' for "computer software enabling the uploading, posting, blogging, sharing or otherwise providing entertainment, electronic media or information."
