Oh, it is so on.Barbara Walters is pissed off at Star Jones. Star's surprise announcement yesterday that she's leaving The View wasn't supposed to come until Thursday. At least, that was the plan as Barbara knew it. She was in shock (as were the other gals) when Star opened her big, fat mouth yesterday. Barbara tells the Associated Press that she was even more surprised to hear about the article in People magazine where Star says she feels as though she was fired from The View. It turns out, she was! According to Walters, Star's contract wasn't renewed early this year because viewers don't like her, her dramatic weight loss (somethin' aint' right about it) and her creepy husband. Barbara wasn't going to reveal any of that information but apparently changed her mind after Star's announcement yesterday. Walters said, "I love Star and I was trying to do everything I possibly could -- up until this morning when I was betrayed -- to protect her."
I never thought I'd say this, but I'm watching The View today. I'm hoping for one or more of the following outcomes: a) Barbara makes Star cry, b) Barbara makes Star march off-stage, or c) all-out bitch-slapping, scratching, hair-pulling chick fight.
*UPDATE: Star is gone! Barbara Walters said on today's show that she is no longer on the program. What's better than kicking Star's ass? Taking her off television! Go Barbara!!!

Rats. Wish I'd taped it. Oh well, the price of not being a regular viewer of the View...and yet, a price I'm willing to pay...

Star Jones was told not to show up for work today. I read somewhere that the network advised her not to come in. So maybe yesterday was her last day on "The View." I hope so. She is insufferably self-righteous and usually, when she (or that dingbat blonde girl) starts yapping away about something ridiculous, I change the channel. I am sick of hearing about her shoes, her wigs, her creepy husband, and her opinions about anything in general. "The View" has been getting kind of stale anyway so it's time for a change.

I think that it is horrible the way people have critized Star Jones. Being overweight is unhealthy and so she changed for the better. She owes us no explaination as to how she did it and Even though i am not particularily fond of Al I can understand that she was excited about her marriage and her achievements. So what she was outspoken ,but I am sure that in that kind of tv show enviornment where if you back down no one takes you seriously , you had to believe in what you are saying in order to survive. I am sure that as prudish as barbara waletrs can be that after they have had enough of Rosie o donnell's angry lesbian" act they look fondly upon the days that they had someone of Star's tepterment on the show.

Good riddance to the suck up freebie loving egocentric plastic Star.. I think Rosie will be a lovely breath of fresh air! She always says whats on her mind, whether a popular opinion or not, and I am sure the View is going to be a ratings hit with her unique talent and wit. I stopped watching but you can be I will return. Now if only they could do something about that blonde... Good luck to Barbara & Joy!

She wasn't there. Barbara did a short address to the camera about how Star had known this for months and that they were trying to give her time to find something and announce it like she was leaving on her own for a better job. They wanted her to go out with dignity. Funny that Star choose to be the bitter instead.

So let me understand that which is not mentioned because of the "L" word.
Star Jones Reynolds a black Afro-American is being replaced on the "VIEW" with a Lesbian.

Bill Doyle the "L" is replacing Meredith Vieira.
Now the intereting thing would be who replaces Star, a person of color or is the show going all white.

I am not a Star fan I think she has gone to "Hollywood" for me. But don't really enjoy Rosies "out the fat people crusade" earthier (She had an issue with Kristy Ally also) It was wildly speculated and truthfully pretty much known that Rosie was gay but not until she was ready did she sit down and come out. As is her right. But up until then she was not upfront I mean most knew but some like my mother in law were like what about her crush on Tom C. I myself never saw another gay person running around on network TV screaming "Rosie come out you big liar" she made a lot about that crush before coming out and saying "i want him to mow my lawn and bring me lemonade" Most of all I don't think she is objective enough to fill in Meredith's seat I don't see her as a 1 of 4. Have you ever seen Rosie not be the center of whatever scene she is in? I like Rosie thought her show was great nowadays not so much she (IMO)always seems to be on the attack. Star played an important role that cannot be denied. Her Legal expertise was a benefit during hot topics she was a good blance.I always thought of the four of them giving four different sides of the topic now I wonder if it will be more of a Rosie and Joy sarcasm comedy hour which would be funny but not what I have grown to enjoy about The View

Paddi, I very much agree with your comments. Regardless of Star's personal life, her legal knowledge of issues was indeed beneficial to the co-hosts as well as the viewing audiences.
By the way, Bill Doyle,a person of color is not known as a "Black Afro-American". A person of color is either known as a Black-American( most people just say Black) or an African-American.

Interesting, the View's ratings have been dropping in the younger demographics and they have been investigating how to improve them for a year now. Rosie is being promoted as the savior of the show and there is a huge billboard in Times Square announcing her arrival, none of the other co-host are on the picture. So will this be Rosie's show or Barbara's show? I always thought she was an interesting choice and I wanted to see how Rosie fit in a group dynamic vs her own show. But I never thought of her as the main draw for the show.
I'm not a fan of Star Jones but I did appreciate her legal point of view. Elizabeth drives me nuts so maybe I was always yelling at her and ignoring what Star was saying.

One down... ??? to go? Elizabeth will hopefully be next. She thinks her crap doesn't stink. I mean come on, she got the gig because she was a drop-out from Survivor. And I personally am getting sick of her self-righteousness. As far as Rosie is concerned, I guess we'll see what happens. She certainly wouldn't have been MY choice, but then, no one asked me. It remains to be seen how much of a team-player she can be. With her ego, it may be an issue. I heard that she left her own show because her head didn't fit through the door any more.

Does the TV watching public even want to see Rosie O'Donnell on TV again? I think Not--see how fast the ratings will drop, once that big mouth Rosie appears!

When it comes to ratings and how long Rosie will last it reminds me of The Debra Norvil(I think that's how you spell it) Joan Lundon switch back in the 80's when it was perceived that Debra was booting Joan out of her job ratings crashed and they quickly took her off the air.all I can say is fans tend to have loyalty and right now the Views fan base of women who most know what its like to feel like you were stabbed in the back by co workers or friends at least one time in there life don't seem happy. Star was like my sister don't always like her she pisses me off sometimes and is annoying but she is family.

I can't believe how judgmental many of you are being. A person's health and weight loss is no one's business but their own. And you verbally attack her husband...why? These people have never hurt anyone. There are two different situations here... 1.If you didn't like Star Jones Reynolds' behavior on the show, then you didn't have to watch and you should be fine with it now. 2. Star's behavior in leaving the show has been honest and done in a manner to try to take some control of her own life after ABC has been continuously leaking information about her for months. The way ABC, Barbara Walters and Bill Geddies handled her leaving the show was inexcusable. Walters and Geddies lied and encouraged Star to lie. They didn't like it when she told the truth, so now they are trashing her. Why anyone would ever watch their show now after their lying and pompous behavior is beyond me.

wonder If rosie had made awful comments about any of the other women from the view. Would she have still been hired? I think not! I use to look at the view as not just friends but family ... it's hard watch them everyday laughing, joking and having fun I'm not! sure if it's real anymore. I wonder if star was still big fat and unhappy would she still be there.
After all family sticks together. If someone makes fat jokes about my friends or love ones no way I would hire them. Unless I wanted to hurt them that's what the view did to star. clearly all the love and bonding I watched each day was fake. My advise the to the remainder girls of the view. what happen to Star is like a woman taking another woman's man. He left his woman for you and one day he'll leave you for another woman. One day you may find yourself on the front-page like star. I felt the view had more class than that! something happen in the background and was played out in the foreground. I expected more from "The View" .
Also I went to the views website to voice my opinion as they say give my VIEW only to find they closed the site down HUMMMMMMMMMMMM a show called "The View" that doesn't want our view. Well, they shut star down and judging by closing the website they shut us down also. the view stinks for here.
