This may come as a shock to many of you, but South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker are going to make fun of a group of people. I know, it took me a few moments to adjust to this news, as well. Weren't these the guys who held a press conference and tearfully apologized for attempting to show the prophet Muhammad during one of their episodes? Oh, wait, that was actually Bizzaro Matt and Trey. I make that mistake all the time. The real Matt and Trey are sharpening their satirical swords for a new Broadway musical about Mormons (seriously, what is it with these guys and Mormons?) The currently untitled musical is being developed with Jeff Marx, a writer for the gay-themed musical Avenue Q.South Park creators will mock Mormons in song

I try to avoid watching that episode whenever it is rerun on CC. Otherwise I spend the next day with it stuck in my head humming, "dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb".

Um, Avenue Q isn't exactly "gay-themed." There is one character who is a closeted homosexual. It's actually more about life after college. Sesame Street style.

How is Avenue Q gay-themed? Cause one character is "questionably" gay? Tsk tsk tsk.

One (or both?) of the guys did a movie called "Cannibal the Musical" set in the old west that was pretty mormon-full, if I remember correctly.

Both Trey and Matt did Cannibal The Musical, it was a college project that was later picked up and distributed by Troma pictures. It's actually a huge parody of Oklahoma, but except with cannibals. It's a hilarious movie. The mormon stuff wasn't that big in it, but yeah I guess they are obsessed with mormons.
