I really, really hope this becomes a trend. A sitcom that didn't get picked up by WB last year is now available for viewing (in full!!) on YouTube. It's called Nobody's Watching and it was created by Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence and two writers for The Family Guy. The show is hilarious. It's about two guys who love television and get their own sitcom on WB. Think of it this way: Joel and Adam get their own show (which one is the jock and which is the nerd?). They live on various television sets-- I think the living room is from Roseanne, but the office scene escapes me. They also interact with the studio audience and talk to the camera. There's also some pretty blatant product placement that gave me quite a chuckle. The fact that it's on YouTube is interesting. I wonder whether more declined pilots will appear on YouTube. And I also have to wonder whether internet buzz about these shows has the power to bring them back to life? To hell with network executives and their questionable decisions (seriously- who the hell greenlighted Four Kings?). Wouldn't it be nice to see what the networks are being offered and tell them what we think is good?
Go watch Nobody's Watching over at YouTube (it's split into 3 clips) and tell me what you think.

Ok, so now I've seen it and I can see why the network passed. Even for the WB this is a stupid show. That being said, I like the idea of something like this appearing on YouTube and what it could mean for the future of entertainment.

Might've gotten old after a few eps, but I thought it showed some promise. Super funny, and one of the most original ideas I've seen in along time.

I love scrubs, so I hope it's not showing fanboyism when I say, "Yeah, I dig it." Comedy pilots can be rough, and I think after 3 episodes we would have been all in. Is this going to be on YouTube now that it wasn't picked up? If not, too bad it wasn't given a real chance.

The living room is from Grounded For Life, a show that spent some time on the WB.

It was very clever and well done. I thought it was very funny and had plenty of potential. It was definitely better than most of the “Yes, Dear” that makes it to network TV these days. At the end of watching it a bit of disappointment came over me as I realized I was not going to be able to see what happens next. As for showing up on YouTube, I hope creators of these shows figure ways to get them out there so we can see what is being passed on by network execs.

Funny and clever, yes. Better than a lot of the crap that not only gets picked up but also renewed, yes. But it's not hard to see why the network passed. It's a little too high-concept and weird to carry an entire series. It might have made a nice special. It'd be great if more failed pilots wound up on YouTube.

First of all this is a great idea, puting pilots on youtube, especialy those of unpicked shows. Second the show had something, it was different from all that exists, with a few more episodes it could have reached some seasons. I'd watch it!

I actually worked on this pilot. We all had high hopes that The WB would take a chance and pull themselves out of a gutter of programming. The sets were actually deliberately designed to look like every cheesy sitcom set in the world.

IF these two guys write for Family Gay, this show can't be that funny or original.

It was a great pilot no doubt indeed, in fact I betcha The WB would have picked it up. BUT the key words in that sentence are "The WB would have picked it up". The WB is an established network AND is willing to take a chance on anything, BUT The CW on the other hand, is a new network and is depending on Reliable hits. Like I said, it would have had a good run on The WB, but if you asked The CW, they'd probably give the same old qoute "It's not in our Demographic."

I thought it was histerical. It could have been the next Arrested Development. Oh, that's probably why it wasn't picked up.

I might be wrong but isn't the office from Spin City?
Dude this would have been an amazing show ... seriously are these execs competely sold out and afraid of life by the time they get to the top? Soo pathetic.
