But maybe my opinion of him has changed. According to this New York Post story, Eisner raked televangelist (and self-proclaimed strong-legged) Pat Robertson over the coals during a taping of Eisner's show last week. In particular, Eisner took issue with Robertson's views on gay rights, his call to assasinate Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, and his view on whether or not Jewish people go to heaven. Robertson's PR people sent CNBC an e-mail expressing their disappointment with the interview, which was obtained by the Post.
I'm surprised Eisner didn't challenge Pat to a leg-press-off. But it looks like he made Robertson quite uncomfortable, which is always the sign of a good interview.

I don't agree with some things Pat Robertson says. I don't pay attention to him. The media does tell me when he says stupid things. They keep quiet when black "religious" leaders say anti-semitic things.
My deal is why do I have to read it here? More entertainment and less politics. Eisner's show is irrelevant like Connie Chung's and Olbermann's show. Nor do I want to read a post on Keith saying some bad stuff in emails or his show has made mistakes in reporting. I say ban news channel news unless there is a shakeup (like when Keith will be fired--again, for being a jack ass.)

I for one am happy to hear anything about Pat Robertson being exposed for being the fraud that he is and am looking forward to watching this interview. Thank you for posting this story because I have never watched Eisner's show and never would have had I not read about it here.

I don't know why Rev Robertson misspeaks as he has at times. He would have to answer for that. I don't think anyone can say that he represents a constituency, as he is not an elected official. Pat is a Christian Broadcaster, and as such ascribes to certain perspectives or attitudes. Rev Robertson would seem to be consistent, if not adept or careful with some statements. But then, 700 Club is his show! He speaks to his audience.
Eisner likewise represents his world-view and attitudes. I should think it not only unfair but disrespectful of Eisner to think that he could challange one who strongly maintains a conservative Biblical view on homosexuality. How insensitive. I should also think that Mr Eisner would have done his homework, and know what conservative Christian Theology would aspouse as to a Jew's Spiritual Condition. Wouldn't one think that Mr Eisner would be more tolerant?
Mr Eisner may have succeeded at clarifying the polarization that can exist in our free society. Thing is... Rev Robertson might refer to Mr Eisner's Liberality as Sin. But Mr Eisner's personal condition was not the topic of discussion.

I don't agree with some things Pat said. I do think there is a double standard with white Christian wacko leaders compared to black ones.
What was more rude--Matt Lauer tearing apart Britney Spears in an interview or Eisner's interview? Hard to say, but the media is bad. To be become a famous and respected reporter, you must destroy someone. It's sick frankly. Hopefully this interview improves Eisner's ratings from 0 to a respectable .2.

Brent, have you checked the name of this website lately? In case you've forgotten it's "TV Squad." Eisner's interview show is on CNBC which can be viewed on your TV, therefore it is an entirely appropriate topic for this site to cover. If Eisner's show were broadcast via radio, the internet or telegraph then, you would be correct to question why you have to read it here.
By the way Brent, you don't HAVE to read anything here. Go find another site or start your own and call it "Stuff About TV Except Stuff I Don't Care About Even Though Other People Do." I don't watch "24" but I don't whine when TV Squad covers every single episode.
Ian, the show airs Tuesday night at 8:00pm Eastern, not sure about other time zones.
And Jac, there is no god and the bible is a moronic collection of stories written by mortal men to keep their followers stupid and subservient. Get a life.

Brent, I would assume you read the headline and unless you thought it was about a cooking show you shouldn't have read it.

Let us not forget how evil Disney as a corporation is, with their history of not paying royalties to artists and theivery of stories (go and find out where "The Lion King really came from... KW: KIMBA) to use of sweatshop labor and legal terrorism... what we have here is one evil man attacking another evil man, not a good man attacking an evil man.

I assume Eisner is a faggot.I believe Most of the performers at Disneyland are gay as someone I know who works there has informed me some time ago. So I can understand Eisner's dislike for Pat Robertson and vice versa.

I would like someone to ask Mr. Robertson if it is true that during an "Evangelical and Catholics Together" (ECT) meeting in the 90's he endorsed a document, changing the scriptures. That is to say the word "impute" to "conferred" where it concerns salvation. The apostle Paul uses the word impute which signifies a free gift, whereas conferred means that salvation has to be earned; thus making Christ's sacrifice of non effect.

Pat Robertson is a self-serving little creep who, IMO, may be showing the first signs of Alzheimer's (2000 pound leg presses? Give me an effing break, please!). I'm rather hoping so, as watching him decompensate on the air would be a rare pleasure. He's spouted evil and nonsense to a bunch of credulous peasants for decades. He's an embarrassment and it's a pity there are people dumb enough to believe him.

I HIGHLY RESPECT PAT ROBERTSON FOR HIS VALUES AND BELIEFS. THERE IS NO PLACE IN THE BIBLE THAT CONDONES HOMOSEXUALITY!!! THE JEWS ARE GOD'S CHOSEN PEOPLE, BUT UNLESS THEY CONFESS JESUS CHRIST AS LORD AND SAVIOR THEY WILL NOT GAIN SALVATION!! WE NEED MORE GODLY MEN TO EXPRESS THEIR BELIEFS!!!!

I admire your wit and your ability to express it, but that does not morph it into fact. Here is a fact: Pat Robertson is a devout, hard working, man of faith, integrity, and ethics. He is continually maligned by a liberal media which pounces only on the controversial, providing half-truths and omitting anything decent, like the millions of dollars CBN's Operation Blessing provides every year to disaster victims, the homeless, the hurting, the underpriveleged, the orphaned. Providing clean water wells to 3rd world villages, A flying hospital staffed by volunteer medical personnel which travels the globe offering life-changing procedures to those who could not otherwise access them, a 24 hour counseling phone line for those in need. Actions, not words, especially liberally selected words, are the evidence of one's character and belief. Dr. Robertson has devoted his life to serving others, despite the cost to him personally or the attacks on his character. I challenge you to visit CBN's website www.CBN.org and search out the truth on Pat and what he stands for vs. blindly swallowing a liberally-biased, spoon-fed meal. You may just find yourself rethinking your last comments as well. Blessings to you!

For those who think religious conservatives spew hate, and that those who challenge them, (could we say spew hate towards them), are to be lauded... Well, enjoy your own brand of hypocrisy... Bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter... Godliness is anathema and sexual liberation is the new morality... Liberal Christianity creates it's own god to conform to it's own social agenda, while conservative Christianity seeks to conform to the one and only guidebook the true and living God has given us... It is for this cause that God has poured out a spirit of delusion upon liberals because they received not the love of the truth but took pleasure in wickedness... As for Robertson's missteps in speaking, the tongue is a difficult thing to tame even for them that are anointed by God's Holy Spirit... So where does that leave those who are devoid of the Holy Spirit of God?... And before you liberals lay claim to having God's Spirit as your influence... Please define for me what the word "Holy" means???
