FX is kicking off a contest to encourage viewers to come up with their own comedy sitcom pilot with the chance of having it air on the network. If you think you have what it takes, well, you're too late because the deadline is today. Yeah, I know, but I didn't learn of this until last night. On June 19, the top twenty entries will be chosen and shown on the contest's MySpace page, with the winner being shown during the second season premiere of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia on June 29. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia was actually picked up after its creators taped a pilot for just two hundred dollars. The winner will receive $50,000 from the network to turn their idea into a full-length show.
