"6/6/06": "The day of the devil? Or... regular numerical seeeequence?" Cue the thunder and twitchy eyebrows. Multiple news networks wouldn't shut up about the possibility of impending doom. Some even felt the need to explain the significance of the day, reporting that some people believed that bad things would happen on 6/6/06... "bad things like the Apocalypse". No, no. Losing your keys is bad... The Apocalypse is, well, shitty. "Shitty" went un-bleeped. I'm seriously getting more and more confused as to when bleeping is necessary. Aaanyway..."Wedding Crasher": With gas prices going crazy and a war with no visible end still blazing in Iraq, we in the US have decided to tackle the ever important issue of marriage. Actually, just gay marriage. In his June 5 speech, President Bush addressed the issue for the first time since 2004 (apparently, marriage is only threatened on even-numbered years). Senator James Inhofe supported the amendment to completely ban gay marriage, bringing up some statistics during Tuesday's debate. He mentioned that in Sweden and Norway, two countries that allow gay marriage, more than half of the children are born out of wedlock. Not to mention the fact that the sun only shines six months out of the year there.
Senior Gay Correspondent Rob Corddry joined in to elaborate on the issue (after explaining that he's the Senior Gay Correspondent, not the Senior Gay Correspondent). Corddry said that homosexuality has become dangerously mainstream through the likes of Will & Grace, Rosie O'Donnell, and Donald Rumsfeld ("Apparently, kind of an angry bottom"). A gay marriage ban might give homosexuality the cool, dark edge it once had, kind of like what prohibition did to alcohol. Homobition!
The night's guest was Bill Bennett, former Secretary of Education under Reagan and the author of America: The Last Best Hope. I knew something good was coming because they started the interview fifteen minutes into the show. They usually only do that for the big-wigs, like Bill Clinton. Anyway, this was a big gay marriage debate between Jon and Bennett (for and against, respectively). Although I was kind of irked that Jon kept interrupting Bennett, he made a lot of good points. Bottom line of Jon's argument: It all comes down to whether you think homosexuality is part of the human condition or a random fetish. Definitely worth a watch. Crooks and Liars has video.
Jon/Stephen: None? Again? Moment of Zen: Sam Brownback and his posse of charts.

I personally thought this was one of the best shows in a while. Very funny and very true.
I loved the arguements Jon made in his interview with Bennett, and most of all loved that he was whiling to make it an arguement to defend what he and many of us believe.
Great show!!!!!!!!!

It was probably better than Jon interrupted Bennett, since he was trying to use all of the standard arguments used in BS debates (hello polygamist slope)
