While Daughtry was competing to be the next American Idol, it was speculated that he would likely be offered and accept the spot as the new frontman for the band Fuel. Only hours after he was voted off the show, at least part of the speculation/rumor came true, when Fuel came to Daughtry with the offer. Many assumed he accepted on the spot, but in numerous interviews Daughtry said he hadn't yet decided. That is, until now. Chris Daughtry has officially turned down the spot as Brett Scallion's replacement in Fuel, stating that he'll be doing his "own thing." He says to expect an announcement regarding his future plans within the coming months.

That's what Wayne Rogers said when he left M*A*S*H. Anyone know what he did after that? ... Right.

Wayne Rogers is actually a successful investor. On the weekends, he's a regular panelist on FNC's "Cashin' In", and you can tell that he's a very smart, savvy man.
Also on FNC's weekend business block, on "Cavuto on Business", you have Ben Stein as a regular panelist as well. But now I'm getting off-topic!

"Who is Chris Daughtry?"
Better question. Who is Fuel?
When was their last hit and why are they farming AI for talent?

I wonder if the very restrictive contract that each finalist must sign with AI had anything to do with it. Aparently, each of them is tied to 19 Management for some period of time (90 days?) and can't do anything with 19's approval.

Chris is alot bigger than Fuel. He would have been "the band". Good choice! They were sort of bad news for a while anyway...

Hey Jim I'm with you, who is this Daughtry guy, isn't his 15 minutes of fame just about over? Same with you LC, I thought fuel was something to put in your car.

I would have liked Chris Daughtry to front Fuel. But maybe he doesn't know all of their songs. I think he might have a solo career. Hearing his version of Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead or Alive still gives me chills. He is that good, that talented! I think that the band asked him a little too soon while American Idol hadn't even finish their 5th season. Chris is on a lot of people's minds now and it will be interesting to hear his new music soon!
