Starting in June, SIRIUS Satellite Radio will begin airing a weekly show revolving around the upcoming season of HBO's Deadwood. Hosted by The Gem Saloon's own W. Earl Brown (he plays Dan Dority), the show will feature interviews with other cast members, discussions of previous episodes, and news about upcoming ones. The nice thing about SIRIUS is that all of them will be able to swear and curse as much as we're accustomed to hearing. The recap show premieres on SIRIUS on Saturday June, 10 at 8PM and the Deadwood season three premiere airs on HBO the following night at 9PM. It was recently announced that this will be the final season of Deadwood.

Why did they cancel DEADWOOD before Milch could finiah his wonderful story? Why did they charge us good money for what suddenly -- without a word of warning -- became a mutilated masterpiece? I won't support a company that treats its artists and its subscribers so poorly. I will cancel HBO the day after DEADWOOD. To make some noise about this, go to http://www.savedeadwood.tv/. This news is outrageous. How can you cancel a four season series at the end of the third season? Who does HBO think they are, NBC?
Just goes to show you that even if you PAY for it you still have little control over what the suits do.
Well, I will exercise my small amount of control the day after the last episode of Deadwood SEASON 3 airs.
I will cancel HBO.

The Sirius broadcasts done by Earl Brown and the Deadwood cast are really great! What's not so great is the HBO decision to terminate plans for Deadwood season four after previously announcing that it was a go.
I pay to subscribe to HBO for the original programming they offer. I became a loyal HBO cheerleader when Deadwood joined their lineup. I have recommended HBO to dozens of friends and colleagues because of their superior quality oroginal programming.
But with the hassles and exceedingly long delay of the current season of the Sporanos, the cancellation of Carnivale and now what's happened with Deadwood, I can't trust that if I pay my money and invest my time and attention in their shows, that I will be able to have a satisfying experience of closure with the stories. It's not worth the subscription if I can't expect all the shows to have the kind of closure given to Six Feet Under and Sex and the City.
So no more HBO for me if Deadwood doesn't get its fourth season...I'll allocate my TV entertainment dollars to Showtime.
I've read recently in the Washinton Post that HBO's CEO Chris Albrecht may be on his way out shortly...in my opinion this would be a smart move since he appears to be oblivious to the fact that his success is based on maintaing a loyal subscriber base.

Chris Albrecht should resign. What he has done by forcing David Milch's hand is inexcusable. HBO will spin the story so that it sounds like Milch actually made the decision to quit the show when it was they who compromised his vision by ordering only 6 episodes. Milch looked hard for a co-investor...really, couldn't someone else fund the other half of it?
HBO officially sucks. Cancel HBO after Season 3 of Deadwood. Sign on at www.hbonomo.com

Articles everywhere are stating that it was Milch's decision to walk away from the show, when in fact a few weeks ago he spoke about the upcoming plotlines of Season 4 in an interview at MIT. This is HBO trying to spin the story and trying to transfer blame. Don't believe a word of it.
Milch worked hard to save S 4 from extinction. The cast attests to it.

I can't believe HBO has done this to us. What an outrage.
