Well, this was bound to happen: NBC has decided to move their highly-anticipated new show, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, to Mondays in order to get it away from the daunting challenge of squaring off with both CSI and Grey's Anatomy.Studio 60 will air at 10 PM on Mondays. This has set off a chain reaction of changes to the fall schedule, which was announced last week:
- Law & Order: Criminal Intent will now air Tuesdays at 9.
- Wednesdays will start with the sitcom combo of 20 Good Years and 30 Rock, followed by The Biggest Loser and Kidnapped.
- Thursdays will kick off with Earl and The Office, followed by Deal or No Deal and ER.
- Fridays will start with Crossing Jordan (returned from mid-season exile), followed by Las Vegas and the original Law & Order (that's right, L&O fans, the show will no longer be on Wednesdays).
- Medium has been banished to mid-season; it joins Scrubs on the bench.

I think this is a really smart move for NBC. Even if Studio 60 ends up being great, and it certainly has the potential for greatness, it was going to get hammered against Grey's and CSI. Monday at 10 should give it a lot more time to breathe and build an audience. Once that happens, then it can be moved to compete with a big show, much like ABC is doing with Grey's.

Oh, great. Now what am I going to watch on Thursdays at 9 since I am not a fan of Grey's, games shows are worse than reality shows, and with the final 60 seconds of the finale the CSI showrunners screwed the pooch so hard a whole carton is needed since one cigarette won't do.

IT SUCKS.
The first rendition of their new schedule made perfect sense- pairing Medium with Heroes, Studio 60 with Earl & The Office, etc. Now it has no flow. I mean, who thinks it's a good idea to put Deal or No Deal between The Office and ER? Or The Biggest Loser between 30 Rock and Kidnapped?
And... Law & Order on Fridays at 10? Are they trying to sink that show?? WTF, NBC??

Dick Wolf has got to be breathing fire right about now. I thought NBC would have learned its lesson when it messed with "L&O" during that whole "Heist" fiasco this past spring.

The show that gets the biggest boost by this looks to be "30 Rock". Originally scheduled at 9:30 on Wednesdays, it was going to die against the return of "Lost".
But now at 8:30, it stands a better chance. Of course, I love "Bones" and I do want to check out "Jericho". But while "Bones" may be out due to baseball playoffs, I should be able to get a good sampling of both new shows.

They are obviously tring to kill Criminal Intent. It was hard enough to decide which to watch when Veronica Mars moved opposite House on Tuesdays, now I have to decide amongst three of them. Yes, I know my viewing choices make me look like a multiple personallity sufferer.
I haven't watched it in a while but isn't Crossing Jordan a little too adult for 8pm?

Well,I have a feeling Dick Wolf is not going to be very happy with the network. First, Conviction is not renewed for the fall, then two of his three L&O shows are given the pinball treatment. I don't think he would care so much about CI but I bet he gets mighty ticked about moving the original show out of its long-running Wednesday slot. Does NBC have such a short memory that they forgot they tried a L&O time change already this past season with 'Heist'? Guess what happened then, it went right back to its old time slot.
In my opinion, 'Studio 60' had a good chance against these older shows. It had a pretty strong lead-in with 'Earl' and 'The Office' and already had the pre-season buzz going for it. Plus, they could have promoted the return of Matthew Perry to Thursday nights.

Jesus, this schedule is AWFUL. Just really, really awful. There's not ONE night on there that I'd even consider watching for longer than an hour.

I'm just delighted they're not putting it on opposite "Vanished" at 9 pm. I definitely plan on watching that, and I'd like to give "Studio 60" a chance as well.

Having seen the promo for Studio 60, all I can say is... Wasn't The West Wing cancelled already? It looks simply dreadful. This show won't make it past mid year. Next.

Well I do feel better about Studio 60 moving but not about Medium going to the bench. Thurs night is screwed up too because I'm not watching Deal or No Deal. They are killing what little was left of ER with this move too.

Moving L&O to Fridays and benching Medium to mid-season - sounds to me like an insider is short the stock.

Riki, CI and SVU will be on back-to-back. That's one big ol' chunk of L&I there, but that's how the schedule shakes down.

Mostly I think this lineup is a bigger mess than they had before. Moving "Studio 60..." to Mondays, good idea ("CSI: Miami" is probably the weakest of the "CSI" shows and "What About Brian?" was something of a surprise renewal); leading it with "Heroes", awful idea (swap "Heroes" with the Monday "Deal Or No Deal" makes more sense or replace it with "Medium" and hold "Heroes" for mid-season). Moving original "Law & Order" opposite "Numb3rs" (which killed "L&O Trial by Jury") bad idea, even if Fridays looks like it could be a reasonably strong night for NBC. "Deal Or No Deal" opposite "CSI" and "Gray's Anatomy" sure to kill it. "Crossing Jordan" in the first hour of Friday might just be enough to kill off "Ghost Whisperer", but are they going to have to sanitize it? Swapping "Biggest Loser" for the two sitcoms might be a mercy for them, but I'm not sure just how much of one. They had to move one show to improve its chance of success and instead moved everything and left an absolute mess in their wake.

Wow, what a bad schedule. I don't know who's smoking what at NBC, but who had the bright idea to put two hours of Law & Order on the same night! Moreover, where NBC's previous schedule relied on established shows to help bring viewers to the new ones, this schedule pretty much hangs every new show out to dry. I could see moving Studio 60, but as much as I like ER I think the better choice would have been to put Studio 60 on at 10 and move ER to another night, possibly Monday. With all the shows NBC has pushed off for midseason why didn't they just open up Saturday for original programming? Maybe then they could do something different from all the other networks and possibly regain their dominance of the night from back in the 80s and early 90s.

I hate that NBC gives great shows like Conviction half of a season (on Friday's) and then cuts it (duh). How about the way they take the few things that are working for them and screw them up with new programming (Medium and ER Lead ins)? Who is running NBC. I've gone from recording all M-F Primetime NBC to maybe one or two shows. Frustrating!! How about we be done with The Biggest Loser and keep Conviction. Move Las Vegas back to a time when some of the target audience is actually home. The new schedule makes me insane!!
