Ah, now it's on, bee-otch! You may be able to get away with insulting the President, but no one talks smack about The View. Wait, what am I saying? Everyone talks smack about The View. It's incredibly talk-smackable, or smack-talkable, or whatever. Anyway, I missed this morning's episode because I was busy engaging in one of forty million other activities I enjoy instead of watching that particular yakfest, but apparently the ladies took some objection to a comment one of the Dixie Chicks made to Newsweek. One member stated, "Would Bruce do The View?" referring to Bruce Springsteen and his career path, which the Dixie Chicks hope to emulate. I'm not sure which is stranger to me, their attack on The View or that they actually think they're in the same league as Bruce Springsteen.Dixie Chicks slam The View

They are nothing but opportunists looking to promote an album. I mean, they made their original comments about Bush abroad where they had an audience that they knew would cheer them on. When they got back to the U.S., back when Bush was actually popular, and were being boycotted, they decided to apologize for disrespecting the presidency. Now that his popularity is at an all time low, they somehow find the "Courage" to say they take back the apology and that they meant what they said. Somehow if Bush's popularity magically jumped to 75% approval I have no doubt that they would find a new way to apologize.
They don't hold a candle to Bruce. While I don't tend to agree with him politically at least he had the balls to stick with his convictions whether popular or not.

not to mention the fact that the Dixie Chicks went on The View just before their career took off. Bit that hand that fed them, didn't they?

I'm so sick & tired of hearing about the Dixie Twits, they need to just go away and face the fact they are a has been. My apologies for those I've offended, but they will never reach the status that The Boss has.

I don't let celebrities determine my political view so what they think doesn't bother me at all. We all have the right to say what we want and that applies to them too. I wish alot of these people who are upset by them would take the time to learn more about their politicians and the issues and form their own opinion. Get involved, it's your country too.
But I have to say, I listened to their new album and I love it. I haven't bought a cd in ages and probably won't buy this but while it's streaming for free, I'm going to enjoy it.

Bruce Springsteen is the Boss. That would put the Dixie Chicks in the category of hourly employees - hardly on the same career path. Would Bruce do the view? Probably not, but he also wouldn't waste his time contemplating it either. Chicks, stop hurting your brains thinking about politics or prioritizing talk shows. There’s a ton of cowboys, open spaces and cactus that need songs written about them. Stay in your comfort zone.

I was so disappointed when the chicks first made their comments about our president so publicly and that being said everyone should get on with their lives. I will continue to love the girls as they are and totally respect the fact that they have the right to their opinions and beliefs, that's why we live in AMERICA. I love the new album and loved seeing them perform on David Letterman last night. You go girls.

Springsteen has been one of the top rock acts for nearly three decades. His 2005 album, Devils & Dust earned five Grammy nominations, winning one for best solo rock performance. Is that recent and relevant enough? Think the Chicks will still be around in 20 years? I doubt it.

Bruce - over rated back in the 70s but getting better as his music matures. Dixie Chicks - they too have grammys under their belts and one of the best selling albums of all times. They're just getting started! Got to go... Got to get to the record store to buy that new DC CD!

The Dixie Chicks certainly have a right to express their political views. Expressing their opinions in private might be a better business decision. I have a right to decide against purchasing their music. Although, to be honest, I don't do country.

I like the Chicks music. I don't really have an opinion one way or another about them. At least they have the guts to voice their opinions. Love their new song "Lubbock or Leave It."

The Dixie Chicks are losers and they just can't accept that. Never listened to or bought their music, and definitely never will.
They are has beens that will never reach fame and stardom again. They need to go home and stay there.
