Totally agree. Abby can't ever be happy for a long time. I don't think Jerry will make it, since Benrubi is starring in his own show (or is it Anne Heche's own show ?!) .

Anyway , I really hope Abby and Luka stay together, survive the crisis and their baby turn out to be fine.

Abby will always be miserable as long as Maura Tierney plays the role. Tierney's face can only do sad. She's the sad-faced actress. I can't stand her, myself. She was that way in Talk Radio. Sad and pissed off. It's just Maura Tierney, pure and simple. The writers, taking one look at her sad face, can't write anything but sad stuff for the character.

I thought Sam was the worst though, when she was dating Luka. Boo hoo! A super-hot doctor wants to be my baby's daddy when he's not the daddy? Cry me a river.

I like Abby, but hate her relationship with Luka. So, I hope Abby is OK physically/mentally. I just want Luka/abby to realize that they are not meant for each other and move on.

I want Carter to come back to county full time ( in Chicago) sans Kem. Know one will find happiness until the show ends. That is how dramas work. Abby actually had a mild past couple of years. She is overdue for major angst.

Abby is unhappy because of Tierney's acting skills.

For Christ’s sake, the woman is the most 'praised' medical professionals in the show's history! How many times, have other characters and guests been forced to say just how great of a nurse she is, and how great a doctor she is, and on and on.

Now she's going to be a mother and the show's resident 'hunk' has asked her to marry him, and she's STILL BI*****.

I hope that Carter and Kem come back. They were the only couple worth watching on the show over the last few seasons.

There is simply too much Abby on ER. The actress favors a sour face, and she’s simply okay looking. I’m tired of ER now and she’s a big reason why. I just hope that Wyle and Newton return at the beginning of the season so I can stop watching. Now Newton is someone that a guy can look at all day!

Where have I been? When did Abby have an abortion? We didn't see that on the show. I know she was thinking of doing that with Luka's baby. It must have happened in her past. Oh well I hope Luka somehow breaks out of the stretcher and gets free so they can Finally end up happy, I love Maura Tierney, is it me or is Sam alot like Abby? Linda Cardellini is so good as Sam but her scarcasm and wit remind me of a younger Abby. Any one else see the similarities?

Yes, Abby had an abortion. No, she didn't bother to tell her husband. Yes, I'm sick of her.

I used to be able to watch ER because there were others worth watching and I could ignore her. Now, she seems to be center of the show.

And don't plead with Wells to give Abby happy storylines, according to the latest interview with Tierney in Newsday, the blame is entirely the actress's fault.

I personally love Abby, I think she is wonderful. Granted the show does focus on her a bit much, so I do agree that its needs to focus on others more and have a more rounded out cast.

~ I didn't know she had an abortion, but I was out of the loop for a few episodes here and there.
~ I do hope that her and the baby are alright. I hate it when children die.
~ I miss Hathaway. Any notice that Luca has a thing for nurses? lol (Hathaway, Sam, Abby)

i personally love abby...and maura tierney plays her well...wouldn't you look sad if all these twisted things had happened in your life..and she does have her happy times...as for neela and ray, if she can't have michael might as well give her ray...I think he loves her at any rate. I really wish carter and abby would have stayed together. oh well life goes on.

Abby is one of the WORST characters to ever appear in a lead role on ER.

She has no depth. She only plays mournful and bitchy and I'm tired of her.

She's the chief reason why I didn't watch ER in Season 12, and the only reason why I watched the season finale is on the off chance that the show has gotten wise and will finally get rid of her.

Alas, I hear from the rumor mill that she's still on board.

She just as bad as Michael Michelle ever was.

I always did like Abby. When she originally appeared, she was an O.B. nurse. Then she's an R.N. in the er. Never did quite understand how that transition was made- kinda hokey.
But Abby was always sensitive to others' feelings; always remained supportive to her exes (except her husband) and they remained friends.
I do have to say that the last couple of seasons have been too much about Abby. I agree- she shouldn't be the lead. Those episodes with her mother and then her brother- I just didn't like them.
Agreed- not enought depth.
And, I'm sorry, I never did like the Sam character. It was like the writers couldn't decide whether she was tough and independent or scared and putting up the front of being tough. Get rid of her.

Abby is not un-happy because of Maura Tierney! Maura is an amazing actress! I've seen her in other movies where she've played happy.
I love Abby. She's the best character that ER's ever had! She is what makes me love the show!
And she is better with Carter (sorry all Luby-fans, but that's just the way it is!). But I really hope that she gets happy, she deserves it (even if she's with Luka). Please, let her baby survive!
