Duane 'Dog' Chapman, star of A&E's Dog the Bounty Hunter, married his longtime companion yesterday on Hawaii's Big Island. The couple decided to go ahead with their planned nuptials despite the death of one of Chapman's daughters, Katy Chapman, who died the day before in a car crash in Fairbanks, Alaska. She was only 23 years old.Chapman says he gathered his remaining 10 children, including two he has with new wife Beth Smith, to discuss whether to go on with the wedding. They decided to go ahead- making the wedding a celebration of the couple and of Katy's life.
Making an awkward transition... 'Dog' wore white jeans to match his white vest and boots in the ceremony. The wedding airs August 8th on A&E.

To the Duane Chapman Family: I was both shocked and saddened to hear about the death of your daughter, Barbara Kathy Chapman. You always think that you will not outlive your children. It is devastating for a child to go first. I know you have a strong faith and belief in prayer. Cling to it and you and your family will make it through this crisis. Last, but not least, my congratulations to you and Beth on you marriage. Good Luck and just know your love and comfort to each other will ease the pain in the loss of your daughter. GOD Bless your family. Nelda B

Hi Dog:
Your ex(Katy's mother) was quoted by a Fairbanks newspaper stating your daughter was in a lot of mess. I remember when she appeared on your show. She seem so meek and not very sure of herself and definitely no very confortable around you.- what I mean is that she did not seem like she was familiar with you as a daughter should be. How much of a part did you play in her life? Why was she not planning to attend the your wedding? These things are so sad to hear. Such a young life. 10 or 12 children is a lot of responsibility. You are a very busy man with your reality show and so many children. 23 years of age is still very much of a child. It is especially sad that she left a 4 year old boy - your grandchild. I am sorry for your loss and I hope you and your family carry on - apparently you have already done that with the wedding. I don't know you and I am not trying to preach to you, but it sounds to be that that young girl (your daughter) needed you.
Best wishes.

I just want to say that there is a whole lot of negativity in this world. You people that want to play the blame game should be ashamed. I just want to say congrats to you Dog & Beth. And say you (Dog) are not to blame for your daughters death. I live in AK and read the KTVA article. She was so young, but God had a plan that no one could change. We have all made mistakes but we are lucky to be alive to talk about it now! You have made a huge impact on so many lives. Keep up the good work. God bless you!

To the both of you:
I want to start by saying that I am sorry for the way that some people are in this world! I think that sometimes people forget that not one person is perfect and that we werent put on this earth to judge others. I am happy to see that the FAMILY decided to make a decision to carry on with what was best for the Family! I wish you all the best and enjoy the time that you have on your honeymoon. I can promise you this you will talk more about the kids only b/c they are not there!:) I wish you all the luck in the world. Make sure that you keep your faith strong and dont ever go to bed mad!
Please hug the whole FAMILY for myself and my family and we are thinking of you in this trying time!
God Bless your marriage and you beautiful family - All 50 thousand of you!:)

I'm so sorry for the loss of your daughter. Anytime is horrible for a parent to loose a child, but, especially the day before such a special occasion for you and Beth. Just remember our heritage, I'm part Cherokee, and our christian beliefs and don't blame yourself for this tragedy. My love and prayers to you and the whole Chapman family.
God Bless and watch over you.

Dog and Beth, On April 19th I lost my son to a genetic heart disease. He was 26 years old. When I heard about this tragedy in your life, especially in the midst of your wedding plans, my heart ached for you. There are no words to take away the pain and time will only dull it but with the love of your family, you will make it. Beth is a strong woman with a big heart and will carry this load with you. You are not alone as not only your family and friends support you but you have the prayers of your fans who are also your friends albeit they are unknown to you.
