MTV2 has preview of new animation block

where my dogs atAs I mentioned before, MTV2 is getting back in to the animation game with a new Saturday afternoon block of shows, Sic 'Emation, set to debut on June 10. Well, a couple new shows, a retread of an old show (Celebrity Deathmatch), and reruns of Beavis and Butthead. While it doesn't make sense for me to judge any of the new shows on just these preview clips, I'm going to anyway. So here goes:

Where My Dogs At?, featuring comedians Jeffrey Ross and Tracy Morgan as animated dogs, left me a bit cold. First, the gag about Nicole Richie wanting to get down to her "birth weight" was already done on The Simpsons. And no, I don't think they knowingly ripped off The Simpsons, but hearing an old joke on a new show makes me rather "meh" toward it, whether it was intended or not. Also, the premise seems a bit tired.

I'm not sure about The Adventures of Chico and Guapo, either, but I did enjoy the clip where one of the characters doesn't recognize two obviously white people until they dress in hip hop clothing, since that's how white people dress these days. This one may have potential.

Of course, like I said, this is based on two-minute clips. Perhaps after June 10 at noon when this new block airs I'll come back and deny everything I wrote here. For right now, though, I think I'm looking forward more to those Beavis and Butthead reruns. Check out the previews here.
