(S02E23) The thing I liked most about this finale was how what we've come to think was the "main mystery" of the season was really only a consequence of how early it started. Several lasting mysteries (for lack of a better term) were resolved or came into play significantly in this episode, some even likely running into next season.Once again, let's quickly go over each family's main points from tonight:
The Young family: Zach's now at least a multi-millionaire, and Paul's looking at doing serious time for a murder that didn't happen. Doesn't Zach seem like he'd make a perfect evil rich overlord? I sense Paul will make it out of prison and come looking for his son, but then again, why would any of this really connect back with Wisteria Lane anyway? I guess it's one way of keeping Mary Alice connected in some way.
The Solis family: Oh, Carlos will be back, we all know that. Hey, I'm not saying what he did was right, but Gaby can't keep hating him for basically doing what she told him to. Or can she?
The Scavo family: I was sure hating Lynette for having made such important decisions about the kids without consulting Tom at all or even learning more about the situation. She really deserves one of these knee-jerk decisions to really, really bite her in the ass next season. Having Tom's one-time fling and "new" daughter nearby could provide some mild entertainment for next season, but I could see it getting old pretty quick. Will the mom skip town and leave the Scavos with her daughter to care for? Will she be another Wisteria Lane victim, causing the same thing to happen?
The Mayer family: I'll group Mike in with this story, too. So, Mike knows Orson from somewhere, likely from prison. Wait a minute ... Susan just happens to meet Orson in a movie theater and Mike knows him from somewhere. Meanwhile, Bree sees the mysterious Orson in the psych hospital, who then later comes to her house for a date. Am I going crazy, or was this a crossover with Lost?
The Van De Kamp family: I was actually a little surprised that Bree's son didn't come up in this episode. I do have to wonder, now that she basically saved her daughter's life, if she'll be taken more seriously by her. Likely not, as this is Bree's child we're talking about.
The Applewhite family: A very cool twist that I didn't see coming. It all makes sense now, looking back at past episodes. The only thing that really seemed very far fetched was the SWAT team being deployed to the area from a simple 911 call, and without any sort of attempt at communicating with the shooter. That really felt like a cop out to me.
The flashbacks were definitely a treat and were well used to show how each family has developed in all these years. Seeing Rex, Bree and the interaction at the drugstore was all too creepy. One interesting thing of note was how absent Edie was from the episode. Didn't that seem odd?

I liked the flashbacks, but the rest of the episode was rather stupid. The Applewhites plot...it seems like they just wanted to get rid of this plot quickly and forever. The whole thing with Orson...way too coincidental and really smells of the whole other "bad medical guy" plot that Bree was already involved in earlier this year (and does anyone really think Mike is dead? Come on!). And this girl that came out of nowhere with Tom's love child and will be moving into the neighborhood...please.
This show just seems to be going in circles, or dead ends. I thought it was going to turn into a great show like Knot's Landing, but it's not even Central Park West.

The show went backward and forward in time so much I thought I was watching the series finale of "Charmed" again.
I have to laugh at the writers, though. First it was the looney Pharmacist, and now an evil dentist. In between was the adventures with the hospital doctor.
Why do the writers of this show hate the health profession?

Well I disagree with the comment.
It was a fascinating finish of an otherwise slow season. Yeah Orson's plot was pushy... But Lynnette/Tom plot was a great arc and a preparation for Season 3.
The Applewhite storyline was on the back burner but it came biting us back with a twist. The only thing that REALLY bothered me ? Why the heck would you leave your jacket on the face of someone yu just murdered...

Well, I enjoyed the finale. Yeah, the Applewhites conclusion was kind of thrown together, but wasn't their entire story? Instead of being main characters, the family was basically there to redeem Bree.
I was actually confused about the Orsen thing. I thought he ran Mike over so he could have Susan all to himself. But apparently that hit and run was personal since Orsen seems to be after Bree. Will Bree ever find a man who isn't sinister or doesn't have some serious issues that manage to make ever hers pale in comparison?
Poor Gabby. Albeit for selfish reasons, she fights for Xiao Mei to stay in this country, and the housekeeper gives it up to Carlos. I'm with Gaby. Carlos is having an affair with "the mother of [my] child", not just some random housekeeper. And he lied about it. What happened to all his Catholic redemption? Good thing Xiao Mei is already pregnant because we might have a Mexinese baby next season.
And poor Lynette. How did she get bamboozled into three pregnancies? And I think she would have rather had Tom having an affair than to have that nutjob of a baby's mother in her life forever. I cringed everytime Nora opened her mouth. I hope the child isn't as disturbed.
I still look forward to DH. It's not what it was the first season, but I think they set things up in the finale to make a run at glory again next season. Frankly, it's more like a real soap opera now. Some years are like shoot me, and others you race home to watch the recording.

I didn't watch this show as much as last season...but after watching the finale -- I'm officially done. Bob is right on. The show will be doing nothing but continuing to go in circles, an absolute waste of everyone's time.

Am I just confused or id Nora a different woman than the one we saw Tom walking upstairs with glass of wine in hand? That woman lived in a beautiful home, she was beautiful and there was no child in sight. When Nora got out of the car I had no idea who she was.
I really hope Mike is not dead....

I'm a retired sixty-four year old man who has never watched a soap opera, so I don't know why I'm addicted to DH, but I love the show. I wish I had recorded the last show, because I think I saw Mrs. Applewhite drive off in the moving van with her retarded son. But, I thought she poisoned him in a previous episode. Mrs. Applewhite wouldn't have been with a mover in the van, because it was a "move yourself" rental van, and she was driving, not to mention that it was the middle of the night. And, by this point her "normal" son had been shot by the SWAT team. So, who was in the van with Mrs. Applewhite, or did I just imagine I saw someone with her? But, if nobody was with her, how did she manage to get her grand piano into the van, and move all by herself. And with both sons dead, why the big rush to move again secretly.

I love the show, however, too many wierd things that didn't fit in.
1.-they should of at least given us the connection between Mike and the evil dentist guy. Something with prison, I know that but what else?
2.-where was Edie?
3.-the whole Tom and Nora..ok fine, he finds out he has a daughter but the episode we saw he was having wine with a woman and going upstairs with her at nighttime (wasn't it night?) so he obviously stayed the night. if he was going back and forth to see his daughter why was he there at night drinking with Nora instead of visiting the daughter during the day?
Did anyone watch saved by the bell the college years? Nora is the one girl who dated slater, that annoying voice..didn't like her then and i don't like her now..
guess we just wait til next season huh?

likely running into next season? since this was this season's finale , i have a feeling its more than likely. as far as the cops action , and various coincidences , this is an exciting show , and fictional- its pretty good at blending things in though of course would be impossible to be 100% logical.if it was , entertainment value would be lost.

THE FINALE SKIPPED AROUND FAR TOO MUCH. THE NORA THING WAS A JOKE, WHEN WE SAW TOM GOING UPSTAIRS WITH A WOMAN ON THE PREVIOUS EPISODE, IT WASNT THIS PSYCHO LOOKING TEENAGER, IT WAS A MATURE WOMAN,IN A NICE HOME, AND HE WAS BEING LURED WITH A TRANQUILIZED GRIN ON HIS FACE. NOWHERE NEAR THE LOOK HE HAD FOR HER LAST NITE. IT JUST DOESNT MATCH UP. AND THE APPLEWHITES SON AND DANIELLE, LET IT GO THAT IS OLD AND BORING. WHERE WAS EDIE AND ANDREW? THEY MAKE THE SHOW MORE SHARP AND FUNNY. AND YES, THE SWAT TEAM CALLED IN FOR A 911 POLICE CALL, JUST DOESNT HAPPEN. AND HOW STUPID TO HAVE CARLOS AND MISS VIRGIN IN A CAR IN HIS GARAGE WHEN GABBY COULD BE HOME ANY GIVEN TIME. HELLO?? WHO IS WRITING THESE EPISODES ANYWAY? DO YOU THINK WE ARE THAT UNINTELLIGENT? GET MORE ON REAL LIFE TRACK NEXT SEASON OR YOU WILL LOSE MORE AND MORE VIEWERS!

Edward Gore,
yes you saw Mrs. Applewhite with Caleb. He mentioned in another show the his brother told him to try to kiss Danielle, so she stopped him from eating the poisoned ice cream.
As far as the show goes, it was a little far-fetched for the dentist and Mike to have some history and then for him to just try to kill him out of the blue. Maybe where they know each other from is enough for him to try to kill Mike.
And I can understand Gabby throwing out Carlos b/c she can't have the woman he's having an affair with living in the house with them and she wants to make sure the baby is OK, so Carlos had to go. I loved the line about him not getting a hotel room but a lease! LOL
All-in-all, I'll be watching again next season to see why Zach cut off Paul and follow the rest of the story lines. But more so, just to see Eva Longoria! Yum!

Okay, Edward, I missed some of the 2 episodes prior to the finale, but this much I know..... yes, Mrs. Applewhite was in fact going to poison Caleb with the tainted ice cream , but stopped him from eating it when he said something that revealed that Matthew may actually be responsible for the girls murder. And yes, that was him in the moving van.

Yes, after reading the reviews above I agree. The woman Tom was seen with the week before was an elegant lady in a nice house offering wine to a smiling faced Tom at that. This kid does not fit in the senario at all. Isn't it strange "The Evil " dentist just happened to be in the Theater the night Susan was sans a man??? Now he is an evil guy, hitting Mike, who he happened to see in the Theather that same night, with out recollection to both. Then there is the intelligent Brie yet getting connected with, yet another Psycho. Getting a tad redundent for me...still like it though!

Very interesting. I think Orson the evil dentist is a hired hit man by the now dead Grandfather. Maybe he was following Mike all along and just waiting for the right moment to do him in. Not sure of the Bree connection though. Sort of strange. Mabe he is George's long lost brother and is planning on getting back at Bree. Guess we will have to wait and find out.

Yes, Edward Gore, there was a young man with betty in that move-yourself-van but was it the retarded one? Looked taller and thinner to me...but we know Matthew is shot dead.
I taped this so I could watch SOPRANOS too and will view that part again but it was fleeting.
Oh well...

Well, Well Well, where do I begin? Absolutely love the show!! Rushed home to watch, but was kind of confused...
1) Who is Nora, and why would she show up WITHOUT this alleged "love child?" She is NOT the same woman from that episode, I looked. (Thank GOD for TiVo). Either they did a switcheroo, or they used some REALLY good make-up. And Tom looked so relaxed and comfortable with this lady at her big, beautiful home, and now he looks extremely irritated by her presence. Something just does not add up with his actions, her motives and that whole scene from her home.
2) Susan is just prone to bad luck. And what is up with her husband/ex-husband? Does he really have money like that to just BUY a house?? What is his motives and why is he trying to block Susan from dating Mike? And poor Mike, run over by some crazy, mysterious dentist that just so happen to be in the same movie theater and Susan just HAPPENS to pick this man to "pretend" to be her date? Absolutely CRAZY!!
3) Where was Edie? Still in the hospital recovering?
4) The Applewhites situation...HUH?? All I see coming from this is another open house on Wisteria Lane, which means another mystery.
5)Is Ms. Huber's sister gone for good or just a vacation? With 3 fingers, how is she going to continue with her schemes and plots? Could it be 2 open homes on Wisteria Lane?
6) Bree's daughter is now going to be traumatized from seeing the boy she "loved" gunned down in her own home..she'll probably blame her mom and hate her even more. Will Andrew re-surface?
6) Zach showed how evil he really is, and his dad is going to rot in jail, which he should for the murder he committed.
7) Gabby and Carlos will eventually get back together, but little Miss maid is not going to go down without a fight..she is going to be very evil and may even try to keep the baby, I mean, Carlos WAS her FIRST...do you think she is going to take it lying down? (Pun intended) Remember what she said to Gabby, it was not understood, but it did NOT sound nice...Watch out for her...Possible "Hand that Rocks the Cradle/Fatal Attraction." Can't wait for the new season!!
