The judges have been announced for Simon Cowell's new NBC talent show, America's Got Talent. They are singer/actress Brandy, British media guy Piers Morgan, and ... David Hasselhoff! Oh, I hope he performs at some point on the show, maybe in a jumpsuit with sequins. Now, which one is going to be the cold, blunt one like Simon? Probably Morgan. But which one's going to be the Paula Abdul, all crazy and weepy?
Regis Philbin is going to host the show (a Philbin and Hasselhoff duet! I can dream, can't I?), which will start on June 21.

I'd rather see KITT judge. Computers are logical and emotionless.

Damn you, Cowell! You had to go and hire Hasselhoff, didn't you? Now I have to watch your show. Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!

Hasselhof is very popular singer in Germany. I guess it's sort of like the French and Jerry Lewis.

Yes, Hasselhoff's big in Germany, but this is not "Germany's Got Talent". (Although, I was impressed by Germany's entry in the Eurovision song contest, an American-Country-Western-styled group called Texas Lightning)
Anyway, this team of judges could be a disaster, or a surprise delight, like the celebs used in the Arsenio Hall revival of "Star Search". Naomi Judd, Ahmet Zappa and Ben Stein? Sounded insane, but at times they were more entertaining than the contestants, and that's what you need on one of these shows. The judges' personality is way more important than their expertise - something Simon Cowell knew from day one, though he'll never admit it.
