I wasn't shocked about Chris leaving. I was happy! I thought he was arrogant, snobbish and he never smiled. And his bald head was starting to freak me out. So what he can copy-cat a Fuel song. Yay! Like we need another alternative grunge rock star. Didn't Eddie Vedder come out of hiding? Yeah, we don't need another grunge rock star.

You have to be kidding me Hickschick... Chris was a nice person and had a heck of a voice. Better that your Taylor's voice. The only reason Taylor is still on is because of his stupid dance moves. Lets aidmit it. Kat should of left last week, but this gives Chris an opportunity to make money with a band. We need a rock star to keep rock alive. With the exeption of rap, rock has formed many different types of music. If you don't like what he does, don't buy his record. You can buy Taylors and listen to that horrible music. You won't be able to see those stupid moves when your listening to the radio sweetheart...

Wow-I'm really getting sick of this assumption that simply because one singer that was a personal favorite of some people is gone, the show is boring. Chris sucked-Creed sucks-Nickelback sucks. Period. The last thing we needed was another generic alt-rock singer.

I think it's Taylor and Katherine in the final. Taylor is my favorite, but i wouldn't be terribly shocked if katherine and her little scientologist heart pulled out a win.

Well looks like a sure set up for Taylor. Clive Davis picked a Bruce Springsteen and personally called Bruce for the okay. Elliot was his usual Blah self. Cat great on "Over the Rainbow" but will that be enough? I am still smarting from Chris being gone so I AM voting for her.

I called in to vote for Elloitt, and got Taylor's line. When I called in to vote for Taylor, I got Kat's line. So what's up with the phone lines tonight. I cast my votes for Taylor and Elloitt.
Elloitt is such a gifted singer, and Taylor is an awesome entertainer. Kat can only sing the songs that she has been trained to sing, and can't go outside her range, she is an older generation singer, and will not last on the pop charts very long. Spends too much of her singing tme trying to be sexy instead of singing. GO TAYLOR! GO ELLIOTT!

I have been watching all season. If it were last week and we had to choose the final winner, I would have chosen Elliot. This week he seemed to be out of sync with his music. Kat was beautiful, as always, and she finally sang a song that she could own. But her singing is just that, singing. She doesn't seem to really connect with anyone or anything, but the camera. Taylor mystifies me, and yet entertains because he is so unpredictable and varies his style to suit the music. My vote tonight would be for Taylor, and that even surprises me. I think we have only begun to see the talent and depth he is capable of. We have seen every aspect of Kat and Elliot. Congrats to all.. but I think Taylor is our next American Idol.

Well Katharine did pull her feedback monitor out of her ear if that's what you mean by fixing her hair and earing. They don't use the on stage monitors, they use the ear piece kind.

Okay everyone heres the lodown....
CHRIS IS GONE!!! YEAHH!!!! omw i have been waiting for that since day 1!!!
but as for tonight. Elliott did AMAZING on everyone of his songs!!(as he alsways does) I ABSOLUTLY loved his 3rd song and i loved both his second and first. He has got one of the best voices i have ever heard!! And he showed that tonight.
Katherine... Katherine... Katherine.. you are just as stupied and imiture as Jessica Simpson and Kelly Pickler.. accept you dont have that likability factor.. She is to worried about looking sexy and flirting with the camera until her eyes pop out!! PLEASE SEND HER HOME!!! keep the 2 that deserve it the most in!
And TAYLOR!! Oh my goodness I have never been so moved by a song in my entire life! I cried the entire time he sang "You are so beautiful" He has got such an amazing gift from God! He shows that off every week! and he truely moved my heart this week!!! I LOVE YOU TAYLOR HICKS!!!
When it comes down to it Katherine should leave tommorow, and then the 2 best from the beginning should duke it out. I am still not sure who I am rooting for completly yet, but i know that if it is taylor and elliott then i will be exstatic either way it goes!

What I learned tonight is that Taylor is a lounge singer. A performer-not a singer. Play it back and close your eyes. Elliott is good-but not good enough for this competition. Katherine is far and away the best singer there. You can tell she's as frustrated as the audience by Randy and Paula's inane nonsense. How do Elliott and Taylor get passes for their subpar performances but they unfairly pick apart Katharine's performance and question her song choices...

No doubt Simon coached Kat to pull a "Fantasia doing Summertime" and sit on the stage and belt out "Rainbow"- still not enough to save her. Elliot's vocals are nearly flawless and Taylor is simply vibrant. His rendition of "You are so beautiful" was simply...beautiful. He made it his own, still showing the falsetto, but not copying the ending..he deserves to win it all!

First time I've purposefully missed watching the show. I did tune in to see the quick singing recap at the tail end, but didn't see any other part of the show. I'll probably watch next week.

I think Taylor Hicks has a great voice and for me he is a great entertainer. He feels what he sings. As far as the phone lines, yes there were problems. After trying to vote for Taylor, my daughter and myself couldn not even get a dial tone after dialing 06, then 09. We both tried at least a dozen times, finally did get thru twice on 09. So there definately was a problem with the phone lines. Again!!

Check out www.dialidol.com. It is predicting that Taylor and Katherine will be the winners tonight. I hope to Corpus Christi that they are wrong. I agree with "T". I don't particularly like Katherine. She has a good voice but just doesn't connect with the songs. I will agree that she did a GREAT job with Over the Rainbow (although I wish she would stop lounging on the stage when she wants to "make an impact.") BUT, on the blues song, she was all smiles. Someone needs to remind her that the genre of BLUES, is just that. They are not happy songs, they are songs about being as low as you can go in life. ARRGHHHHHHHH! Over and over again, she has been given constructive criticism and can't seem to take it and use it and completely make the night hers. Her parents have convinced her she is perfect and she just does things her way, always. It is a very bad blind spot to have.

In any event, although I am disappointed, I guess we will be seeing a Taylor/Katherine showdown. Poor Elliott. I hope Taylor wins. I loved that Randy picked YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL for him. Perfect song choice for him. Go Taylor!

By the way people, you must have been dialing the wrong numbers. Although it was difficult getting through, the numbers weren't rigged to give you a different competitor than the one you dialed for.

I agree with Mike that the judges seem harder on Kat than on the others. Kat has been my fave ever since Pickler got the ax so I'm rooting for her to go all the way. And I don't get why the judges trash her for belting out songs. Heck, if I had a voice like hers I'd be belting out songs too. As for the way she looks into the camera, hey she's looking at me and I kinda like it :)

But Taylor had a really strong night and he could easily be the winner. I like him, but just can't get overly excited by him. To me, he's much better than a lounge singer but not quite a star.

As for Elliot, I've never gotten Elliot, don't wanna get Elliot, can't stand Elliot and hope the heck he goes home. But the way this show goes, it's probably a toss up between him and Kat to go.
