With Chris Daughtry out of the running... does anyone even care who wins American Idol? Taylor's grey hair and windmill dancing skills are growing old. Elliott is talented but really boring. And Katharine is cute- but is she ready for the big time? I just don't see any of these three people being the next American Idol. I mean, just look at the photo. Two yahoos and Katharine. Which one of these people looks like a star to you?Does anyone still care about American Idol?

Agreed. I was kind of hoping for a Chris/Paris show-off, with Chris taking top honors.

I stopped caring about American Idol the same time as a lot of people - after the auditions were over.

What exactly is lovable about Taylor? TELL ME?! Look at the god awful, perv-down-the-road creepy smile.
His spastic moves were a turnoff from the get-go, he's now bordering on having a mental disorder if he actually believes his own schtick. Nothing but a fanboy of Ray Charles probably and it kinda depresses me that Taylor Hacks (yea) could be the winner.

Yeah, I'm with Samuel here. Once the auditions are over the show is absolutely unwatchable. I can't believe America gives a damn about a glorified karaoke contest.

Umm, Taylor is a star. Unless you are really in the know, you'll never know it. And, if you don't understand *real* music, you won't understand Taylor. I invite you to listen to some of Taylors early songs, like "Georgia", or "The Fall". You will be blown away. The show is goofy and for ratings. Is Kelly Clarkson a joke? She's on the radio 1 out of every 10 songs.

And just what exactly is a 'star' supposed to look like, Anna? Are they supposed to have a certain kind of a smile or the right color hair? Duh. Stupid.

Exactly Marc. I'm grateful to AI for introducing me to Hicks. I really don't care if he wins because if he does AI will just make him sing stupid songs. If he loses he'll have the exposure to keep going with his own stuff - like he's been doing for years now. He really is a great singer. And to those who think he's weird - please look in a mirror and tell me if you're perfect. Are all your mannerisms hip? Well then good for you. Are you photogenic? Aren't you so special. I like Taylor just the way his is - unlike everyone else I see or hear who claims to be normal.

Marc (6) is apparently "in the know" but is keeping it a secret. That sounds like what the born-again crowd usually says to nonbelievers. Sorry, I don't get Taylor Hicks either. Yes, he has a pleasant voice, but "star"? Not in my book, but then I'm not really in the know. Maybe he'll have a future in Nashville or Branson.
If he wins, you may feel free to say 'I told you so,' but he won't be showing up on my iPod.

I am still burning over Chris's, I suspect, "contrived" elimination. Taylor CANNOT sell records or sustain a career. Elliot has NO star qualities. Cat has voice, personality and POTENTIAL. I am definitely voting for her as a backlash for Chris's ouster and because she just could make it over these other two SO-NOT-AMERICAN-IDOLS!!!

I thought Chris was arrogant. Didn't like him. He never smiled, and he thought he was great (which he proved when he was shocked over his departure) - and that makes him a snob in my book. That's not the making of a star.

Elliott is the most exciting american idol and plus he can sing. He is like the cinderella story of American Idol this year -- 90 percent hearing loss, sickly as a child and winning over fans each and every week with his talent.
I don't get who votes for Taylor. Even votefortheworst.com asks to vote for Taylor.

I'm actually more interested in the show now that Chris is gone. He was boring repetitive and sounds like every other top 40 "alt-rock" generic singer on the radio. Bland doesn't cut it in my book.

Taylor is a great singer folks. he's jut old fashioned and unpolished in his dance moves. The guy is having a good time on stage and it's infectious. He'll never be big on MTV, but if that is how you judge talent, you should broaden your horizons.

what is it about music that makes people act like teenagers? i have a friend who writes a music column for a major magazine and he gets emails like marc's comments all the time.
